Holiday Makeup Looks for Everyone!

Golds, plums, greens, and blues are all in this season for eye shadow colors, and are among my favorite colors to use for my brown eyes. Reds and plums are the lip color of choice and long and lush eye lashes are whats hot! Try mixing and matching to see what looks good on you. I personally like a smooth, matte lip and love to use super shimmer gold eyeshadows!! AND Don't forget to use bronzer to avoid looking too pale, since you're probably like me and losing that summer glow, and fast!

Coastal Scents Revealed Palette 2 Review and Swatches!

Tonight I am going to catch up on some posts that I've been meaning to do OUTSIDE of my Tomoson posts! :) Last week I finally decided to go ahead and use up some of my Birchbox points and one of the things I bought was the Coastal  Scents Revealed 2 Palette! I received a sample of four of the colors awhile back and absolutely fell in love. There's a color in there that reminds me of my favorite Urban Decay shadow ever, so I was pretty much instantly sold!!

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about or what Birchbox is, it's a monthly subscription program where you receive higher end samples to try out and review for points. Every 10 points equals a dollar, and they add up! They also have the best customer service  out of anyone program I've ever contacted, and if they screw up, they pay you in points. It's rare, but it happens. If you're interested in learning more about Birchbox, you can look through my site for my review of my monthly boxes or visit their website HERE! You can also sign up there by using my referral link, which would be awfully sweet of you.

Anyway, on to what I purchased! Here's some pictures I took for reference!

Overall, I am THRILLED with this palette and will definitely be getting the original Revealed palette ASAP. This one has a mix of matte and shimmers, with little to no fall out. In my experience, they go on smooth and buttery, not chalky at all. They're also highly highly pigmented and blend beautifully. On to swatches!
Here's the top row, from left to right. I love all of them. They're all perfect for every season and nice and neutral, but I like that version 2 has more pink tones. I'm really into the whole cut crease thing right now so these are basically great for that, and your regular highlight colors.
Here's the bottom row from left to right. I'm really into the shimmery brown ones, since when I'm not doing a cut crease that's basically all I use. I also like the matte mauvey colors alot, and the black is great because a little goes a looong way!

Let's not forget the brushes!! If you're going to get either Coastal Scents Revealed Palette, definitely get the one with the brushes because they are AMAZING. I'm probably going to get a set of their brushes now just because they're so affordable and literally work as well as my MAC brushes. LOVE THEM!

AND last but not least here is the makeup look I spent entirely too long making for this post. I used a bunch of colors from the palette & don't really remember which ones though... my bad! :)
I never wear brown eyeliner or a nude lip, but I felt it was appropriate. If you have any questions about any of the other products I used, feel free to ask! Or maybe if my nails hold up for the post I'll just tell you. :)
One notable fact, I have a ton of acne lately, and thanks to Tomoson I found a brand new AMAZING concealer that is going to be reviewed very, very soon on here.
I used Elf's Studio Primer & Sealer as my eyeshadow base which is my new LOVE.
It makes the shadow stay on forever and perfectly matches my skintone! I love it!
This isn't the greatest photo because I look all grumpy, but It shows all the makeup. I don't normally wear all this makeup, but mostly it's alot of bronzer (Hoola & Too Faced) and blush. :) I think the eyeshadow look is a perfect transition into fall makeup, which is my favorite.

Final thoughts, I will be buying every single one of these Revealed Palettes that ever exist. I love this one and as soon as I get 200 more Birchbox points it will be mine mine mine. So again, if you want to help CLICK HERE for a referral then you can earn points to get awesome stuff like the revealed 2 palette for free too!

BUT that's not all I got with my 500 points. More on that later :)

Starlooks July 2014 Nylon Pink special edition!

Sorry this took so long . I was waiting for the mystery items to arrive from the last promo .
The special edition Nylon Pink box actually scared me at first since I knew it would have bright colors;  and well me and bright colors just don't go well together lol.
I will admit I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that I could wear everything but the lipstick (Ashley already claimed that since she's more brave with makeup lol)

Now the first time I got this box I was stalking the mail since it was 101 here in the south and well we all know how heat and lipstick go so well together lol.
So I'm driving my kids nuts sending them to check the mail every 15 min. But it didn't help.  So to be on the safe side I let it sit a bit. Ugh oh Texas ..... no dice I opened the lipstick (starlooks tender gloss in pooh bear) I had barely opened it and it fell out of the tube ( honestly my first thought was omg Ashley is going to kill me, then omg I have neon orange stuff all over my couch and carpet! ) yea it's bright alright! But it's pretty . I certainly can't pull it off though.  Even the lio liner in tipsy was melted.  Yea we don't have ac here either I dunno maybe that proves im a bit insane. ...
So I was actually on the phone playing with the shadow after I had emailed pictures of my melted box and while the c/s lady was doing her thing I was noticing how buildable the shadow was. It's really not as bright as I thought. And can be worn alone for a subtle look.  It came off as a very light gold  rather  than a yellow.  (Im certainly not complaining lol). My point of mentioning me calling c/s about the melted box is just another props to this awesome company.  I wasn't on the phone for longer than 10 min. I had assumed with s new box being sent that I would be waiting at least a week. I was actually amazed to come home from work 2 days later and find it waiting for me ( thankfully it was only a cool 96 that day snd yes I am aware how sad that sounds lol) I'm still on the fence about the eyeliner that came in the box.  The only way I can describe it is a bright smokey blue if that makes sense. I have blue eyes so I want to try it.  But will it be too much blue?  The lip pencil is really the perfect color for me . Its a great neutral color which kind of suprised me that it was in a box with such bright colors. All in all I t h ink this box was a great mix of bright and neutral colors .
The retail value of the box was 49$ and I only paid 17 and change.  (15$ plus s/h) a great deal IMHO
Here's all that was included &yes they are full sz products!
Blue clill eye pencil- $12
Traffic yellow eyeshadow- $12
Pooh bear tender gloss- $13
Tipsy lip pencil- $12

I didn't think I would like this box but I really do love it! Awesome customer service doesn't hurt either! :)

Ipsy March 2014 "Destination Beauty" Unboxing!

I'm a little late posting this as I've had my Ipsy bag for a week or so now, but I'm not TOTALLY thrilled with it, nor am I thrilled with Ipsy right now after the whole PopBeauty lipgloss disaster last month. They still haven't emailed me back about my defective gloss, and I emailed them over 2 weeks ago. So take that as you will.

For those of you who don't already know, Ipsy, formerly myGlam, is a subscription service I usually love created by Michelle Phan, the YouTube makeup guru. For for low low price of $10 a month, they send you a cute little bag filled with 4-5 deluxe sample to full size beauty products from makeup to nail polish to skincare. I usually REALLY love my bag every month, and have been subscribed for almost a year now. :) If you're interested in learning more about Ipsy, seeing my past bags that I haven't posted on here, or want an honest opinion about it, don't hesitate to ask in the comments below! And if you love the looks of this bag, feel free to subscribe using my referral link HERE!

The theme for this month was "Destination Beauty". It's a pretty cute theme considering March is usually the time for Spring Break and travelling. Here is a look!

This month I received:
Nyx  Love in Rio eyeshadow palette
Pixi Primer
Chella Blue eyeliner pen
Bare Minerals Moxie Lipstick

Like I said, this definitely isn't the most awesome bag I've ever received, but I do really like the Bare Minerals Lipstick! Here's some swatches of the lippie and the eyeliner!
The eyeliner is super bright blue, and while I haven't used it on my eyes yet, it stayed on my hand for awhile! :)
This is a swatch of the Nyx "Love in Rio" palette. I really like these colors and they seem very pigmented and smooth on my hand.

Well, that's really all I have for you about March Ipsy! Stay tuned for my March Starlook's Starbox review!

Elf Beauty Book Nude Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches!

Sooo I finally got my hands on a neutral Elf palette!!! Also on sale at Walgreen's for only $2.50 like the other one. I'm pretty excited about it, and I've already used it, and it is definitely great for work makeup!!!
Like the last one, it contains 9 shades, an eyeliner pencil, and a sponge applicator that I won't use.

Here's what it looks like opened up, and the directions for the perfect nude eye look. :)
And here's a little close view of the inside. I've mostly only used the lighter colors.
Here's swatches, with flash. Some of the colors are super pigmented, others are pretty light, but they work on my eyelids. Just not my arm. :D
And here's no flash, to give you a better idea of what that super pigmented awesome green and gold look like. :)

The verdict: While not as pigmented as the other palette. Still worth $2.50 on clearance. They still are long lasting, and really pretty. I like that some of the colors are matte, and others are shimmer. I like variety.
Still want to own every Elf eyeshadow palette ever!!!

I swear some Nail Polish posts are coming your way soon! I haven't painted my nails in days because ever since I got HK Girl topcoat, my manis last forever! Rock!

Elf Party Eye Shadow Book Review & Swatches!

As many of you guys may already know, I can't resist a Walgreen's beauty deal. I've been eyeing the Elf Christmas sets for some time now, but decided to hold off until clearance time because I didn't know if they'd be any good. So glad I did!!
I want to start by saying I bought this palette not expecting much. I don't think I own any other Elf eyeshadow, even though I do use a couple of their products on a semi regular basis (cream eyeliner, liquid eyeliner, and eyeshadow primer). I purchased this palette for $2.50 and now I must own every single eyeshadow book there is.
The colors are highly pigmented, NO NOT CREASE at all, and go on so so buttery and smooth. This palette is infinitely better than the Nyx one I just reviewed, and I am officially in search of a neutral Elf palette. For such a cheap price, you really can't beat the color payoff here. I'd even pay full price for one. :)

Who's ready for some swatches!!?!!?!
Here is the beauty "book" opened up. As you can see, it contains 9 shadows, a mini eyeliner pencil, and a brush. I won't be using the eyeliner pencil because I tried it and it sucks. & I have my MAC brushes. But it's a nice addition for beginners.
On the left side there is a page that gives you directions on how to use the palette. This is pretty neat, especially for beginners who want to know how to make their makeup look like it's professionally done.
On the other side is the eyeshadows. It also comes with a little mirror that would be nice for touchups.
And here are the swatches! As well as the eyeliner pencil. This photo is with Flash.
And here is one without.
Like I said I'm really really surprised with how much I love this little eyeshadow palette. The colors are GREAT and super bright. They are just the right amount of shimmery without being overpoweringly glittery and I didn't notice any fall out either which is pretty awesome in my opinion! I'm going to try out the Silver color and the pink tonight!

Do any of you have this palette and LOVE it? Anyone have any recommendations for Elf products they love!?

Until next time!

Nyx Dreamcatcher Palette Review!

I went to Ulta the other day to return some lipgloss and spotted these BEAUTIFUL new eyeshadow palettes by Nyx! They're called Dream Catcher palettes and are filled with 10 gorgeous baked eyeshadows. I purchased the one in the shade "Golden Horizons" and so far I really like it, so I figured I would share. The best part about baked eyeshadow is that you can use it wet or dry. I prefer to use it wet to really bring out the pigment in it. :)
I'm pretty new to Nyx eyeshadow. Aside from the one I received a few months back from Ipsy, this is really all I own. It has it's pros and cons from what I can see. Pros would be, they're fairly cheap ($14.99 but Ulta always has coupons, I paid about $12), tons of colors, and seem to have long lasting power with no visible creasing. Cons would be some of the colors in this palette I want to love, but they go on kind of weird. Who's ready for some swatches!!!!?
Here it is when I first purchased it. It's a really nice little neutral palette. There is only one gold color, so I don't really know why it's called "Golden Horizons" but whatever. The color in the top left and the one directly next to the white on the bottom row are my favorites.
Here's the best picture I could get with my phone tonight of all the colors. This is dry, applied with a brush. The first color that I love so much is really shimmery, and reminds me of Urban Decay's Midnight Cowboy Rides Again. Lots of glitter. A little fallout. Just like it.
Here is a photo of both dry (on the top) and wet (bottom) application. I prefer this eyeshadow wet, as it is MUCH more pigmented. The color that I was talking about earlier that is a little weird is the 2nd color, the purple one. When you first apply it... it's kind of clumpy like and you have to reallllly work it in, but then it turns into a really nice purple color. I also really like the gold/bronze color and the one right next to the white.
Here is a really crummy picture of what it looks like on. The colors are very easily blended. I used the pink shade, the brown shimmery one, the shimmer dark grey, and the light shimmery one for highlight.
FYI Starlooks Kohl eyeliner is the worst. Someone remind me not to use it when I'm going to be taking blog photos.
& here's all my makeup just so you guys don't think I'm a total hot mess.

Happy New Year everyone!
Is there anything you'd like to see on the blog this year?

December Starlooks Box

So the best part of having a Starlooks Sub Starbox is the december box. They always do one of their 99 dollar palettes. I was hoping and praying it would be their new years eve palette. Side note if you dont know what a starbox is, it is a monthly subscription for 15 dollars a month plus shipping and you get 3-4 fullsize Starlooks products. I switched my sub from Ipsy over to them since they are basically giving away starlooks products anyways, I might as well be subbed to them. So lets do an unboxing!

So it comes just like this, last years box was red and sparkly but they did the regular white box which I am kinda sad about but its just a box lol.
This was the first thing inside and its the details of the box and what is inside.
I am so happy it is the New Years Eve Palette! Yay!

So this is what the New Year's Eve Palette looks like, It is so gorgeous! I am so happy!

Alright time for some swatches! The first picture below is the going L-R the first 7 and then the remainder 8 on the second picture.

It is such a beautiful Nude palette which are my favorites! The eyeshadows are very pigminted and creamy. It did contain mattes which were not as much creamy but you can still work with it. I dont know if in my opinion it is worth the 99 dollars but it definitely is the best 17 dollars I ever spent. It is not as wonderful as Urban Decay but it is still extremely well. If you want to sign up for Starbox please use my referral link which I will place below. One of the great things about the Starbox is that if you refer anyone you get a free referal customizable box and every three boxes you get monthly you get a free reward surprise so they really take care of their customers. Thank you all for looking, this is definitely a must buy if you decide to buy the monthly box of December which will only be 25 dollars!

Thanks again, love Chynel Webb <3
