Top 10 Favorite Nail Polish Colors for Fall 2014

So I've decided to compile a list of my top ten favorite nail polishes this fall. It's usually pretty hard for me to make these lists, since there's just SO many that I absolutely LOVE, but I'm going to try my best! :) Let me know what yours are too in the comments!! I'd love to see/hear about them! I'm all for finding new shades and brands! I may even have a blog sale soon too!

1. Zoya - Nail Polish Pixie Dust Collection

Zoya - Nail Polish Pixie Dust Collection Summer 2013 Edition

For some reason as soon as fall hits, I always start using my pixie dusts. Not necessarily this collection, but I really like to use Carter and Chita! These are great! :)

2. Zoya - Matte Velvet Top Coat .5 oz

Zoya - Matte Velvet Top Coat .5 oz

I also really like to rock the matte nails during fall. I have lime green matte nails right now, and my favorite way to accomplish it is with a matte topcoat. Zoya has a really nice one and so do some other companies. That way instead of having just one or two colors, you can have ANY matte color! :)

Zoya - Matte Velvet Top Coat .5 oz - $10.00, 4.57 shipping - Available at Amazon.com Marketplace

3. butter LONDON - Nail Lacquer in Bric a Brac

Or, better yet check out the Essie 2014 fall collection! I actually just started using Essie, and I really like it. The fall collection looks pretty sweet and has everything from red, grey, brown and blue. They are all super nice colors! I really dig the grey one. These are a nice choice if you don't like shimmers, plus you can get them at the drug store!

8. Zoya - Natural Nail Polish - Dream - ZP686

Zoya - Natural Nail Polish - Dream - ZP686

Zoya - Dream is probably my favorite polish ever. Great for every season, but especially fall since it's a dark, shimmery blue color. LOVE it!

9. Color Club - Nail Polish, Brown, Feverish, .05 Ounce

Color Club - Nail Polish, Brown, Feverish, .05 Ounce

Fall is a great time to try out unusual colors that you wouldn't normally pick. Like brown. I've actually got a couple browns now in my collection and I think they're pretty cool. They're versatile, a great alternative for black, and great for nail art! Because you never know when you're going to need to paint an owl, and you don't want to be like oh crap, where's brown!?
Color Club - Nail Polish, Brown, Feverish, .05 Ounce - $3.75, 6.95 shipping - Available at Amazon.com Marketplace

10. Glitter Gal Purple Duo Chromes Nail Polish- Distorted Platinum

Glitter Gal - Glitter Gal Purple Duo Chromes Nail Polish- Distorted Platinum - .5 Fluid Ounce

Purple chromes seem to be another one of my go-tos for fall. I love purple in general, but chrome seems weird to use until it gets kind of cold outside in my opinion. Almost a winter color, but not quite! :)

Glitter Gal - Glitter Gal Purple Duo Chromes Nail Polish- Distorted Platinum - .5 Fluid Ounce (15ml) Bottle - $15.00, 1.00 shipping - Available at Amazon.com Marketplace

So! Those are my favorites! What are some of yours!?

Coastal Scents Revealed Palette 2 Review and Swatches!

Tonight I am going to catch up on some posts that I've been meaning to do OUTSIDE of my Tomoson posts! :) Last week I finally decided to go ahead and use up some of my Birchbox points and one of the things I bought was the Coastal  Scents Revealed 2 Palette! I received a sample of four of the colors awhile back and absolutely fell in love. There's a color in there that reminds me of my favorite Urban Decay shadow ever, so I was pretty much instantly sold!!

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about or what Birchbox is, it's a monthly subscription program where you receive higher end samples to try out and review for points. Every 10 points equals a dollar, and they add up! They also have the best customer service  out of anyone program I've ever contacted, and if they screw up, they pay you in points. It's rare, but it happens. If you're interested in learning more about Birchbox, you can look through my site for my review of my monthly boxes or visit their website HERE! You can also sign up there by using my referral link, which would be awfully sweet of you.

Anyway, on to what I purchased! Here's some pictures I took for reference!

Overall, I am THRILLED with this palette and will definitely be getting the original Revealed palette ASAP. This one has a mix of matte and shimmers, with little to no fall out. In my experience, they go on smooth and buttery, not chalky at all. They're also highly highly pigmented and blend beautifully. On to swatches!
Here's the top row, from left to right. I love all of them. They're all perfect for every season and nice and neutral, but I like that version 2 has more pink tones. I'm really into the whole cut crease thing right now so these are basically great for that, and your regular highlight colors.
Here's the bottom row from left to right. I'm really into the shimmery brown ones, since when I'm not doing a cut crease that's basically all I use. I also like the matte mauvey colors alot, and the black is great because a little goes a looong way!

Let's not forget the brushes!! If you're going to get either Coastal Scents Revealed Palette, definitely get the one with the brushes because they are AMAZING. I'm probably going to get a set of their brushes now just because they're so affordable and literally work as well as my MAC brushes. LOVE THEM!

AND last but not least here is the makeup look I spent entirely too long making for this post. I used a bunch of colors from the palette & don't really remember which ones though... my bad! :)
I never wear brown eyeliner or a nude lip, but I felt it was appropriate. If you have any questions about any of the other products I used, feel free to ask! Or maybe if my nails hold up for the post I'll just tell you. :)
One notable fact, I have a ton of acne lately, and thanks to Tomoson I found a brand new AMAZING concealer that is going to be reviewed very, very soon on here.
I used Elf's Studio Primer & Sealer as my eyeshadow base which is my new LOVE.
It makes the shadow stay on forever and perfectly matches my skintone! I love it!
This isn't the greatest photo because I look all grumpy, but It shows all the makeup. I don't normally wear all this makeup, but mostly it's alot of bronzer (Hoola & Too Faced) and blush. :) I think the eyeshadow look is a perfect transition into fall makeup, which is my favorite.

Final thoughts, I will be buying every single one of these Revealed Palettes that ever exist. I love this one and as soon as I get 200 more Birchbox points it will be mine mine mine. So again, if you want to help CLICK HERE for a referral then you can earn points to get awesome stuff like the revealed 2 palette for free too!

BUT that's not all I got with my 500 points. More on that later :)

Jessica's Best of 2013

Hey everyone! My name is Jessica and I am the new girl on the blog. Here is a little about me then on to my Top 10 of 2013. I am a lover of all things girly and have collected, blogged about, and reviewed makeup and beauty products for a couple of years now. I am a single mom of 2 little girls and will be turning the big 4-0 in a few months. Ashley just happens to be my cousin and I am so thrilled that she asked me to contribute to this blog. She has great style and I am glad that I can share my love for makeup and beauty products with someone in my family.

On to my top 10!

These are products that I either found and fell in love with in 2013 or that I have continued to use because they are just that awesome.

1. Mac's Mineralized SkinFinish
I had read great things about this and seen many good reviews on Youtube. So, I had to try it. I can't believe I waited as long as I did. I love this stuff. I don't like to wear a lot of foundation and most times just use a light BB Cream or tinted moisturizer. THIS will cover anything and can give you full coverage if you want it to. It doesn't feel heavy and gives a nice matte finish without being too powdery. I used it in shade 'Light'. I don't have a lot of high-end stuff, because I just don't like spending a lot of money, but this is definitely worth the $$.

Number 2. Urban Decay's Naked Basics Palette

\
I don't own any of Urban Decay's Naked Palettes... except this one. I just can't justify paying $50 dollars. Though, I am glad I decided to get this. At $27.00 (US) I felt it was worth it at least to try. I have used it almost daily since buying it a year ago. The 1st color, 'Venus', is a perfect brow highlight and isn't matte. Its a slightly shimmered off-white/cream. The 4th & 5th colors, 'Naked2' & 'Faint' are perfect for the crease and work great for a light makeup application to give definition without being too dark.

I originally bought the dewy finishing spray and really liked it. Then I watched a video of Melmphs where she raved about the matte spray so, again, I had to try it after watching her video. I love this stuff! I am on my second bottle. It sets the Mac Mineralized SkinFinish perfectly and I often feel like I don't have any makeup on. After spritzing it on my face, I have a little fan that I let it dry with. From experience, I learned that I need to set my makeup with this before I put my mascara on, or else I am look like I have been crying. It's affordable and works well.

Number 4. Maybelline FitMe Concealer

Working at a large chain pharmacy, I often times will browse the makeup isle on my lunch break. I had a few customers and coworkers say they liked this line. When I needed a new under eye concealer, I decided to give this a try. I chose the number 10 and it was a little too dark, so I went back and got the number 15 and its a perfect match. I have this darkish vein under my left eye and this covers it without being cakey.

Number 5. Elf's Small Stipple Brush

As per last year's list, I am a huge fan of Elf Studio line brushes. This has by far become my favorite brush and use it for foundation and concealer. It blends beautifully. It isn't too big and floofy nor too small to smear. Its just right.

Number 6. Wet n' Wild Rose Golden Goddess to Reflect Shimmer Palette

I bought this on a whim and its become my go-to busher/bronzer. Its not shimmery enough to make me look like a disco ball, but its just enough to give a gorgeous warm glow. The color works well with my skin tone and hair color, but I think it will will with pretty much any skin tone.

Number 7. Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Moisturizer

I received this in a PopSugar Must Have box last year and it is AH-Mazing! First of its all organic and natural. Secondly, its feels really good and refreshing on the skin. And thirdly, it smells like lemon candy. Its no secret that I am turning 40 and I could use all of the help I can get. I can really tell a difference in my skin since I started using this. A little goes a long way and I still have plenty left but will pay the high price to purchase more when I run out. Its worth it.

Number 8. Physician's Formula Organic Wear Fake Out Mascara

It is light and lovely and gives my lashes an almost ethereal affect. I got this at Walmart in a buy 1 get one free package. I gave the extra to my coworker and after a few weeks of use, she came to me raving about how much she liked it and how it made her lashes look. I have to agree. When I wear black mascara, this is the one I reach for every time.

Number 9. Rimmel London Show Off Lip Lacquer

The ONLY thing I don't like about this stuff is the smell and it really isn't that bad. It feels amazing on the lips, the color payoff is like whoa, and it lasts. Its just gorgeous. It took forever for CVS (my place of employment) to carry it so I had to find it elsewhere. Its affordable and there are several colors to choose from, both shimmery and cream. I would definitely recommend it.

Number 10. Beauty Blender Makeup Sponge

This is another thing I received in a Pop Sugar Must Have box. If you haven't read any reviews about the Beauty Blender, do yourself a favor and go read them. There are many like the Beauty Blender but this is the real deal. Once you get it wet, the size doubles and becomes this cloud like sponge and blends foundation flawlessly. I would repurchase this anytime!

I hope you liked my review of my top 10 of 2013 and I would love to hear your thoughts and what your you top 10 beauty products of the last year are. Cheers! ~ Jessica

Top Ten Favorite Nail Polishes!

So this was really way harder than I anticipated. Doing my top ten lippies was pretty easy, but there's just so many polishes that I couldn't live without. I'm probably going to do a top ten Julep post later on, but for now, here are my top ten favorite polishes of the moment!!! :)

Here's flash vs. no flash just to give you a better idea of color. Since it's nighttime and there is no sunlight for me to take pics in.
From left to right:
Who's ready for some messy swatches?!?!?! I know I am!
From top to bottom: Kai, Carly, Rebel, Cotton Buds
Cotton buds is the most amazing white ever. If you don't own it, you definitely need to. Just saying. Chynel and I are in agreement.
Here's a shot of Denver with no flash
Carly is really hard to photograph without it glaring up. And you can't really see the awesome texture of Kai.
But you kind of can here.

This hand's even messier!! This is Carter, Popples, Jackie, Forget Now, and Avery
By the way I just got Avery today and am in love. It's like the most perfect Barbie pink. It looks like pink plastic I love it. Not overly shiny and it's amazing.
Carter is amazing because its really really glittery and nice and textured. The pixie dusts are so textured that I can use a topcoat, and still feel some of it through. With the Julep Sea Salts, I can't.
Popples is also one of my most favorites. I know I already did a post about it but I just LOVE the glitter!

Well, that's pretty much it!! Tomorrow I will be doing the Top Ten Eye post. I'm really excited for it. :)
What are some of your favorite polishes?????? There are TONS more that I love that I didn't put on here. Like Pretty & Polished Jawbreaker, any glow in the dark polish, All of the other pixie dusts. It was really really hard to narrow it down. I just decided to go with what I can't seem to stop painting my nails with. :)
