Pretty & Polished Candy Coated Swatch & Review!

Time for another tiny piece of my Pretty & Polished May Beauty box!!!

This time it's "Candy Coated"! I received a mini of this baby in my box this month and I LOVE it. It's one of those things I didn't realize that I needed until I owned it.
I love it SO much. It's like the perfect baby pink with adorable purple glitter in it. I don't know how I lived without it before and it is literally perfect for Spring!! :)

Here's your swatch of the day!

I hope you love it!!

Pretty & Polished Tales of Lagoona Review & Swatches!!

So I've decided to take a different approach to reviewing my May Beauty box from Pretty & Polished. I'm going to review a different polish from it in separate posts throughout the week and then do one BIG post of everything. That way I don't have to rush and swatch them all at once and not be able to wear them.

FIRST of all this is officially my ALL TIME favorite P&P!!!!
This is the MOST BEAUTIFUL polish I have ever seen. I swear. It has the most amazing, easy to apply formula, and looks BEAUTIFUL in the sun. I'm SO glad I got the May box because I might have died without this polish. Just saying...

Who's ready to meet TALES OF LAGOONA!?!?!
It's the most BEAUTIFUL blue holo.

Isn't it GREAT!?! I received a fullsize bottle of this in my May box. Exclusive to the box, so it won't ever be sold on their site alone!

I'll post another Pretty & Polished review tomorrow!!

Pretty & Polished March Beauty Box Review!

It's 12:30 AM and officially my birthday!! YAY Happy Birthday to ME!
I am majorly slacking off on blogging lately, but I've been dealing with the loss of a job as well as the emotional baggage that goes along with that. I've been meaning to post this up for a week or two now, and I've mentioned it a couple of times to you so here it is!!!

Earlier this month, Pretty & Polished announced their new Beauty Boxes! Each month they are going to be offering a subscription box full of 2 full sized polishes, a mini of an older polish that is currently sold in the store, a beauty/skin care product, as well as other bonus items to go along with that! Pretty in Polished is my favorite indie brand ever EVER, so this works for me. I will ultimately probably end up cancelling my Julep subscription for this, or at least one of my other subscriptions, once my three months runs out.  That being said, they are offering this in 1, 3, 6, and 12 month lengths but the one month option sold out QUICK this month, so you have to be super fast! It's $22 and you can purchase one HERE! If you love these colors, you can actually still get a 3 month subscription and get a March box right now! So head on over!

My March box contained:
Matte Topcoat
Liquid Gold
Day in the Park
Jawbreaker (mini)
Coffee Junkies cuticle balm stick
Nail File
Flower Fimo Stick
15% off coupon for March

Now, before I get to the swatches, I want to talk about the other stuff. First things first, I use their regular cuticle balm on the regular in the scent Coffee Junkies and am pretty much just as addicted to it as I am coffee. I was super stoked to receive this in stick form because it is infinitely more portable and easier/less messy to apply. This stuff smells GREAT, just like a fresh cup of coffee.
As for the Fimo stick, I've never used one of these before but this little thing is pretty cute, and I will probably cut off a slice or two and try it closer to summer. And I don't know about you, but I can never have enough nail files, so that was a happy bonus as well.

I'm very, very happy with the March Box! I've been DYING to try a matte topcoat for awhile now, so I was super excited to find this item! And LUCKY for you guys, I tried it tonight for my pre-birthday nails.

This is "Cutie Pie" from their limited edition Sweetheart Duo this Valentine's day with "Day in the Park" as an accent nail. "Cutie Pie", the yellow, is actually already matte, but the topcoat made it even better, and I really like that there is no shine AT ALL. I will say that my bottle of "Day in the Park" has ALOT of glitter in it and it is a teensy bit hard to work with, but it's definitely still BEAUTIFUL and is even more awesome with the matte topcoat over it.
Here is a bottle shot of "Liquid Gold". I've been trying to figure out a way to best describe this polish, and what I've come up with is a Bronze/Goldish to Pinkish Duochrome Holo. Does that make sense? It's so so pretty in the sunlight, and while I typically don't love bronze polishes, the holo factor totally sells me.

Here's a flash shot of it so you can see the holo goodness. You can also see the bronze to pink shift in it, which is really subtle and nice. :)
I think it's super appropriate that the first box would have "Jawbreaker" in it. This was my very first indie polish, and also my very first Pretty & Polished color. I've actually already reviewed it on here in November, and you can read it HERE. I love this color, it looks JUST like a Jawbreaker and reminds me of my childhood. It's also got a really great formula.

I'm happy to say that this box is a total win for me. I usually wait until at least the second month with subscription boxes, just to make sure they aren't going to be horrible, but I'm glad I got this one. I don't think I could have lived with myself if I didn't have "Day in the Park" in my collection for this Spring!
My favorite part of this box is that the colors are exclusive to the month, and they will ONLY be sold in that month's box. How can I pass that up?!
I hope you like these polishes! If you've never heard of Pretty & Polished, make sure and check them out on their website HERE. They're a GREAT indie brand with awesome customer service, and their products are basically amazing. :)

More posts tomorrow!

Pretty & Polished Old World Blues and Kimono'ver Here Swatches & Review!!

As many of you guys already know, Pretty & Polished is basically my favorite indie brand ever. So, needless to say, I've been SUPER excited to show you all these since I received them the other day!!

Last Monday, Pretty & Polished announced a TON of new colors coming out March 1st including, the "Spring FX" collection, "A New Equation" (which based on the show Adventure Time, and they are AWESOME), two new "Country Girl Swag" polishes, as well as two awesome color changers that were sent to me to review, that I am going to showing you today!

Who's ready for some swatches?!?! *Warning Lot's of Pictures!*

First up is Old World Blues, which is my favorite of the two. It's a holographic polish that is a blue holo when cold and a whiteish/silver holo when warm. I've actually been wearing it for a couple of days just to test it out, since this was my first color changer ever. Not going to lie, I was super excited. :)

This is what it looks like cold. I ran my hands under cold water, but these polishes are super sensitive and also change based on your environment, or if you're like holding a cold drink or something. It's really awesome because when you're wearing them they just change randomly throughout the day.

This picture is just for a bonus. I drink Monsters every day, plus you can tell how blue and shiny it is next to the blue table. :)

Here is what it looks like warm. I like how you can definitely still see that it's holographic.

And here is an awesome picture of what it looks like when I ran the tips under cold water. :)

Up next is Kimono'ver Here. It's a reddish orange to gold color changer with lots and lots of multicolored & Gold flakes in it. It's super pretty and really does remind me of a Kimono! :D

Here is what it looks like cold. It's nice and bright and you can really see the gold flakes in it!

And here is warm! I think this color would look really really good on someone with a dark skintone or someone super tan. :) It's a nice light goldish color and I like how you can still see the flakes in it even though they match the polish color! :)

It looks even cooler when half is warm and half is cool in my opinion. You can really see how complex the polish is! It's super pretty! :) All the little gold flakes like fade into the red.

So, like I said these two BEAUTIFUL new polishes will be available for purchase on March 1st, as well as the others they are releasing! I'm super excited about all of the changes that were announced last Monday!
They are also releasing a Beauty Box, which I subscribed to as well, and have already, so I will be reviewing that for you very, very soon!

For more information about the Press Release on 2/10/14 you can CLICK HERE for all the details!!
And to purchase from Pretty & Polish or add it to your favorites for when these babies come out, you can CLICK HERE to visit their website.
If you don't know anything about them, or haven't heard of them, definitely take a look. As well as nail polish they carry some other GREAT items that I use all the time and love such as sugar scrubs and cuticle balms!

So what do you guys think!?! Love?? I love them.
See you soon with the Beauty Box review!

More Valentine's Day Nails! Heartbeats :)

So for my second entry in the Pretty & Polished contest on Facebook, I had to use at LEAST one Pretty & Polished color for my Valentine's Day Nails.
This was kind of hard because I only have 5 of them... and none are really Valentine's appropriate colors. I need ALL THE PRETTIES! It's my favorite indie brand. Anyways! Here's what I came up with!

I still think the Corset nails were the best of my week's mani's... But these are pretty cute too. I used Julep's Carrie as the base color. I've been trying to get this color for months now and FINALLY it is MINE! :( It's like a pretty barbie pink color. Pretty & Polished's Day Trippin' on my ring finger (supposed to be a thermal, but I bought mine in a swap group and it doesn't work, just stays purple) and Pretty & Polished's Popples for the heart. Popples is my favorite P&P so far.

Looking ahead for the next few weeks, I'm definitely going to be doing more Valentine's Day nail art. & Birthday nail art at the end of the month.
ALSO! I have a Julep Box that SHOULD come tomorrow hopefully!
Happy February!

Top Ten Favorite Nail Polishes!

So this was really way harder than I anticipated. Doing my top ten lippies was pretty easy, but there's just so many polishes that I couldn't live without. I'm probably going to do a top ten Julep post later on, but for now, here are my top ten favorite polishes of the moment!!! :)

Here's flash vs. no flash just to give you a better idea of color. Since it's nighttime and there is no sunlight for me to take pics in.
From left to right:
Who's ready for some messy swatches?!?!?! I know I am!
From top to bottom: Kai, Carly, Rebel, Cotton Buds
Cotton buds is the most amazing white ever. If you don't own it, you definitely need to. Just saying. Chynel and I are in agreement.
Here's a shot of Denver with no flash
Carly is really hard to photograph without it glaring up. And you can't really see the awesome texture of Kai.
But you kind of can here.

This hand's even messier!! This is Carter, Popples, Jackie, Forget Now, and Avery
By the way I just got Avery today and am in love. It's like the most perfect Barbie pink. It looks like pink plastic I love it. Not overly shiny and it's amazing.
Carter is amazing because its really really glittery and nice and textured. The pixie dusts are so textured that I can use a topcoat, and still feel some of it through. With the Julep Sea Salts, I can't.
Popples is also one of my most favorites. I know I already did a post about it but I just LOVE the glitter!

Well, that's pretty much it!! Tomorrow I will be doing the Top Ten Eye post. I'm really excited for it. :)
What are some of your favorite polishes?????? There are TONS more that I love that I didn't put on here. Like Pretty & Polished Jawbreaker, any glow in the dark polish, All of the other pixie dusts. It was really really hard to narrow it down. I just decided to go with what I can't seem to stop painting my nails with. :)
As always, don't forget to subscribe and follow us on Facebook to get all the updates!

Pretty & Polished Harajuku Honey and Popples!

It's official. I love all things Pretty & Polished. It could be because it's my first indie, but I don't care and I must share with you these lovelies in all their glory. I hope you enjoyed my last post of the Amazing Technicolor Topcoat as much as I do. :) I ordered three colors in the Black Friday sale and these are the remaining two. I love both of them!!!!
I hope they do another sale soon because I want to own so many more of her colors. ESPECIALLY her thermals! Check out Pretty & Polished HERE, you won't regret it. :)
In my previous post about The Amazing Technicolor Topcoat I mentioned I received cuticle balm. It seems to be working very well! I also bought another Sugar Scrub in the scent cupcake which I LOVE! My husband said he wanted to eat it out of the jar it smells so amazing. lol Here's some pictures of the two since I didn't post them last time.

And here are some swatches of my nails!!
White is Popples & Harajuku Honey is the Pink Jelly

If I had to choose between the two I would probably pick Popples as my favorite, just because I really love the name and neon glitters. They both went on really great as well as they were super easy to work with. This is three coats of each just to get lots of glitter. :) Only downside is they were a pain in the butt to take off!
Other hand! Which is your favorite!?

Like I said, I LOVE both of these polishes, and I can't WAIT to get more of Pretty & Polished to add to my collection. I have a thermal mini that will be in the mail on Friday that I can't wait for!!
Anyone else LOVE Pretty & Polished?? What's your favorite color?

Later!

Pretty & Polished The Amazing Technicolor Topcoat

I wanted this polish as soon as I saw it. The Amazing Technicolor Topcoat by Pretty & Polished is an awesome, unique glitter topper. No two bottles are the same, as Chels, the genius behind this beauty, makes it out of all of the glitter left on her mat after making other polishes. Essentially it is all the left over glitter crammed into one amazing, one of a kind bottle of awesome.
I ordered this from the Pretty & Polished Black Friday sale, as well as some others that I will swatch later. I am pretty sure she matched it to my other two bottles I ordered, and it is simply amazing. Also, I ordered some coffee scented cuticle balm to feed my coffee addiction, and it smells absolutely wonderful and goes on like a dream.

You can buy Pretty & Polished on their Etsy site HERE or on their webpage HERE. I've ordered both ways.

Shown below is one coat of The Amazing Technicolor Topcoat with no fishing out of specific glitters over 2 coats of Butter London's Cotton Buds.
Here's the left hand. There's like every color of neon glitter imaginable. I really love that big green one. It's a holo.
Here's my right hand. I love the big random black hex glitter and the little lilac diamonds!!

Does anyone have this polish??? I'd love to see your swatches! I haven't seen many online.
By the way, Butter London Cotton Buds is AMAZING also.

Until next time,
Xx Ashley C.

Pretty & Polished Dual Review!

I am so excited to announce that I recently received my very first real Indie nailpolish!!! I have been wanting Pretty & Polished's "Jawbreaker" for like a year now, and I used a $5 gift card code from Wrapp and ordered it off Etsy!!! It is everything I wanted it to be! It looks just like I have a classic Jawbreaker on each nail and is packed FULL of Blue, Yellow, Red, and tiny purple glitters in varying shapes and sizes. It went on effortlessly and was totally opaque after three coats. I love it so much and highly recommend this brand to anyone looking to try an indie polish that never has before! Here's some swatches! :)

Isn't it awesome!!! :)

As an added bonus to my order I also received a HUGE sample of Pretty & Polished's Sugar scrub. I received this in the scent Sugar Yum Plum and it smells good enough that I could literally eat the jar. lol I wouldn't though. It is the most amazing, magical product I have ever used in my life. I swear I will never use another scrub. They sell this in 4oz and 8oz sizes for $5 and $9 respectively. This is such an awesome price too because my little sample jar is probably like 2oz and will last me at least 20 hand and foot scrub sessions. I used it on both my hands and my feet as well as my husbands hands and they now literally feel like baby skin. You can purchase this HERE in the scents cupcake, lavendarling, strawberry shortcake, sweet mint, pink sugar, sugar yum plum, apple, vanilla oatmeal, lemon, peppermint bark, mocha doodle, cranberry, and guess what? Chocolate covered BACON! lol Here's a pic of the sample I recevied:
It's still pretty much full after 4 uses. AWESOME! Get some!!:D

I plan on getting more scrub and the color Popples as well as some color changing polishes in the next few weeks that I will review! :D
Happy Sunday!
