Frankenstein Nails for Halloween 2014

Good morning lovelies! I've been trying for WEEKS to figure out what kind of Halloween nails I wanted to do this year... and tonight I think I've finally decided on Frankenstein/Bride of Frankenstein nails! :)
Now, forewarning, I'm not like super awesome at nail art or anything, but I can tell a BIG improvement from last year, and Halloween is my favorite time to do cutesy things with my nails! :) I still kind of want to figure out how to do some witch nails, or zombie nails..

SO without further adieu, HERE THEY ARE in all their not so spooky glory!

For this mani I used:
I've had this China Glaze for awhile now... I have absolutely NO idea why I hadn't used it until now.... because it's basically the most amazing lime green EVER. You can't tell in this picture because I used Instagram filters and whatnot, but here's a picture of it in all it's amazing glory pre-cleanup and pre-franken-nails!
Lime green WHAT!? This is with my matte topcoat over it, but it didn't really need it, as it's super neon and kind of matte already. I love it so much, like if I could only pick on polish color for the rest of my life, I'd definitely pick this one! What do you think?!

Okay so ANYWAY, this is a super easy mani to do, if you want a real tutorial, I can make one for you, so just comment if you do and I'll make a pictorial. :) I'd be happy to! I haven't made one in ages, and I kind of love making them!!

Directions:
  1. Paint nails your base green color.
  2. After that's dry, on your three non accent nails, using a black polish and striper brush, make stick marks randomly over the nail. Two will probably suffice, as some of mine have three and look messy-ish.
  3. Next, on the nails you want to be Frankensteins, paint in the hair using the same striper brush. I made my Franken... Man have squared off hair, and the Bride of Frankenstein have her classic big hair.
  4. Next I drew on the mouth of my Frankenstein using the same stitch type design as the non-accent nails.
  5. I let that dry for a minute to avoid smearing as much as possible, then used a larger dotting tool and my white polish (Nicolette) to dot on the eyes. I definitely had shaky hands last night when I did these and one of my eyes got a little wonky.. so be careful!
  6. Then I used a small dotting tool to dot in the eyes with black.
  7. Add the silver (Rebel) zig-zag streak to Bride of Frankenstein's hair.
  8. Draw on pink (or whatever color) bow, and you're done with your nail art! Unless you want Bride of Frankenstein to have little eyelashes and a nose like mine, in which case you can paint those on whenever.
  9. Topcoat and DONE! I used matte topcoat over these just because I'm out of regular. lol But either would probably look awesome!
SO yeah! Super easy semi-tutorial for your Sunday!
Anyone have any wicked awesome Halloween inspired manis to share?! I'd love to see them! I did some candy corns, ghosts, and pumpkins last year I think! I love Halloween Nail Art!!

2. Zoya - Matte Velvet Top Coat .5 oz

Zoya - Matte Velvet Top Coat .5 oz

I also really like to rock the matte nails during fall. I have lime green matte nails right now, and my favorite way to accomplish it is with a matte topcoat. Zoya has a really nice one and so do some other companies. That way instead of having just one or two colors, you can have ANY matte color! :)

Zoya - Matte Velvet Top Coat .5 oz - $10.00, 4.57 shipping - Available at Amazon.com Marketplace

3. butter LONDON - Nail Lacquer in Bric a Brac

9. Color Club - Nail Polish, Brown, Feverish, .05 Ounce

Color Club - Nail Polish, Brown, Feverish, .05 Ounce

Fall is a great time to try out unusual colors that you wouldn't normally pick. Like brown. I've actually got a couple browns now in my collection and I think they're pretty cool. They're versatile, a great alternative for black, and great for nail art! Because you never know when you're going to need to paint an owl, and you don't want to be like oh crap, where's brown!?
Color Club - Nail Polish, Brown, Feverish, .05 Ounce - $3.75, 6.95 shipping - Available at Amazon.com Marketplace

10. Glitter Gal Purple Duo Chromes Nail Polish- Distorted Platinum

Glitter Gal - Glitter Gal Purple Duo Chromes Nail Polish- Distorted Platinum - .5 Fluid Ounce

Purple chromes seem to be another one of my go-tos for fall. I love purple in general, but chrome seems weird to use until it gets kind of cold outside in my opinion. Almost a winter color, but not quite! :)

Glitter Gal - Glitter Gal Purple Duo Chromes Nail Polish- Distorted Platinum - .5 Fluid Ounce (15ml) Bottle - $15.00, 1.00 shipping - Available at Amazon.com Marketplace

So! Those are my favorites! What are some of yours!?

Bioque Rejuvenating Day Cream Review!

Hi everyone!! I hope you all had a FANTASTIC weekend! I've been a little under the weather myself, but am feeling a bit better now, and have TONS of reviews to bring you!

Tonight I'm reviewing a day cream from a company called Bioque. This has been on my list at Tomoson for some time now, and I actually totally forgot that I had it, but now it's found and I'm ready to review!

Here's a picture for your viewing pleasure:
I was actually pretty stoked to get this one, as I usually only get to review nighttime moisturizers, and this is pretty much the only "daytime" moisturizer that I have in my stash. Of course you can totally use it at night too, but it makes your skin feel super refreshed upon application, so it's perfect for when you wake up in the morning!!

This moisturizer is made to pretty much stop aging in it's tracks. It is supposed to minimize the appearance of dry, fine lines and dullness in your face, and from what I can tell, it does just that! I apply this cream after using a vitamin C serum and eye cream to my entire face and neck, and massage it in using circular motions. You don't really have to use all that much of it, as it spreads out nice and evenly and is really... moist? I guess that's the best word I can use. It's kind of "jelly" like, rather than creamy, and sinks into your skin super fast. It leaves me feeling tighter, refreshed, and kind of tingly-like to be honest. I really enjoy the experience. I've had no issues using this before makeup application either, and it doesn't seem to interfere with how long my foundation stays on. PLUS in my book!

It's supposed to bring nourishment to your cells by having a botanical and peptide filled formula, while making your skin feel more youthful and moisturized. Apparently, you can also use it on the back of your hands to reduce aging there as well! The website says you should use it with their night cream for the best results, however I don't have it, so I just use my regular night cream and vitamin C/ hyaluronic acid combo, and my skin seems to be doing just fine!

If you'd like to find out more about this product you can CLICK HERE. It retails on their website for about $45 and is a really great day cream if you're looking for something new! Bioque also has a 60 day 100% money back guarantee! Can we say BONUS!?

Later!

Body Merry Age Defense Eye Cream Review!

Tonight I bring you my review of Body Merry's Age Defense eye cream. I'm always excited to test out any new eye cream, so I was quick to apply for this promotion on Tomoson!
Here's a photo for your reference brought to you by the company.

Overall, my experience with this product has been pretty pleasant. Unlike alot of the eye products I've tested out, this one is definitely truly a cream. Most of the ones I've been sent to review have been gels, so it was definitely nice to try it out. It's packaged in a pretty large container and has a nice pump which makes it easy to apply. One pump does the trick for each eye, and I generally apply it at night, and before I do my makeup if I'm going anywhere, then use a moisturizer on top of it.

I like that you can use this underneath makeup, and it doesn't mess with the wear of your eyeliner or shadow. That's basically a must have for me in any type of eye cream since I wear abnormal amounts of eyeliner on the daily. I basically wear the crap in my sleep.

As for how it works, I never really see that amazing of results with any eye cream. However it seems to reduce my dark circles, which are usually really awful, well enough so that I can cover them with makeup. It seems to sink in my skin rather quickly, and is unscented for those of you who have sensitive skin! The ingredients of this product include two different peptides, hyaluronic acid, and retinol, all of which are great for you skin and have anti-aging qualities to boot! It's got tons of other great all natural ingredients like various good for you skin oils, and my personal favorite green tea!

If you'd like to find out more about this fantastic eye cream make sure and visit them HERE.

More reviews later tonight, I have a bunch to catch up on!
And make sure and enter my giveaway HERE if you haven't already!

Body Merry Cellulite Defense Gel-Cream Review!!

Today, I would like to bring to you a review of an excellent product made by Body Merry!! I've been using this product for a few weeks now and I really like what it has done for my skin!!

Meet their Cellulite Defense Gel-Cream!

Up until I received this to review, I'd never heard of Body Merry, but I've been lucky enough to receive not one but FOUR products of theirs to review and they're all excellent!!

First of all, I love the scent of this product. It has a minty, menthol scent to it, and it's very strong, so if you're sensitive to smells, I wouldn't recommend this product. I'd also add to make sure and don't rub your eyes after you use it. :) It smells kind of like Icy Hot. I love it. I feel like the added menthol in it makes it feel like it's working better on my tummy and thigh flab.

This product name is a pretty good description of what you're going to get. It isn't a cream, but isn't a gel either. It's kind of in the middle of the two, kind of feels like jello, but more creamy, but not quite like pudding! lol If that makes ANY sense at all! :P It comes in a little tub like the one shown above instead of a pump container like you'd expect a Body cream to come in.

As for results, I haven't seen like SUPER amazing results, but I do honestly feel like it's working, but I probably need to use it every day. It does also leave my skin feeling moisturized, and it doesn't make me hot and sweaty like some of the other cellulite creams I've tried, which is a MAJOR plus!!

If you're interested in learning more about this awesome product, have some cellulite or just want your skin to be a little bit tighter, definitely check them out HERE!

Dr. Song Rosehip Seed Oil Review!

Tonight I have a review of another GREAT product from Dr. Song!! Up until I received this, I'd never even heard of using Rosehip oil, so I was definitely interested in testing this skincare item out!! Here's a picture of the product!!

A little bit about the company if you didn't catch my previous post reviewing their Vitamin C serum:
Dr. Song Medical is a cosmetic laboratory that originally created products for doctors, other professionals, and medical facilities. All of their products are made in the United States and approved by the FDA. With the creation of Amazon, it enabled them to distribute their high quality, professional products to regular consumers like me and you. :) So you know they've got to be super high quality if their making products for doctors! Right?!

Like the Vitamin C serum I reviewed, this is another high quality product!! I love that the ONLY ingredient in it is 100% pure and Organic Rosehip Seed oil, and that its 100% all natural. I don't really care for putting tons and tons of nasty chemicals on my face, and I'm afraid of breaking out since I try out SO many different things every month, so this was pretty much a win for me. This oil is made from extracting the oil out of Rose bush seeds, and it keeps all of it's essential fatty acids in it, so that it's a GREAT moisturizer for your skin! It's super lightweight, not scented at all, it just smells like a really natural moisturizer. It isn't OVERLY greasy, even though it's an oil, and it's really great!

I've used this product as a moisturizer for my face about three times now, and I've seen significant improvement in the peeling that my skin has been experiencing due to the sudden change in the weather here in Georgia. Apparently, you can also use it to heal up your dry and brittle fingernails, and as a moisturizer for your hair! I think I will definitely try using it these ways as well, since my hair is so damaged and so are my nails! I will let you know of my progress!! This comes in a HUGE bottle, and will last me forever! Also, apparently, if you store Rosehip seed oil in the refrigerator, it lasts much longer than if you didn't!

Happy Moisturizing!!

Vita Nut Milk Bag Review and Information!

About a month ago I got the opportunity to review the coolest thing! It's called a Nut Milk Bag and you can make your own drinks like Almond Milk, Cashew Milk (Who knew?!), Juices, Cold Brew Coffee, and MORE! Who knew that you could save your precious month just by buying almonds and making Almond milk yourself at home, instead of buying the expensive stuff at the store?! I didn't, and I'm allergic to milk so this is great for me! Here's some photos!
Unlike some cheaper made bags you can buy online, this one by Vita is made with a top quality ultra fine mesh. It's non clogging and lays flat to dry so it doesn't build mold and become unusable! It strains out all the pulp and gunk so you only have to strain things once! Awesome right?!
It's also super easy to make all kinds of different drinks and you don't even have to mess up your blender so spend top dollar on a high end appliance to make your own juices. I also REALLY love my Iced coffee, so the idea of being able to make my own cold brew coffee is amazing!
AND the BEST part is, if you're new to making your own Nut Milks and using these bags, it comes with a FREE EBOOK to get you started on your trip to DIY milk/juice/coffee making! This recipe guide is filled with tons of delicious sounding recipes that I can't WAIT to try out for myself. Especially the Cashew milk one. I love Almond and Soy milk, but Cashews are my favorite nuts, so I bet I'd like it even better. It's definitely pretty cool in my opinion!

Once I try out some of the recipes, I will post them on here with my opinions on them! I seriously can't wait! The only thing I've tried out so far is making my own coffee, and I, for one, can say that it serious filtered out every grain of coffee, and you really don't have to strain it more than once! It's definitely really awesome!!

If you'd like to find out more about Vita's Nut Milk Bag you can visit them HERE!!

Happy October! Maybe I can figure out a way to make some Apple Juice with this thing to make some Apple Cider or something!! YUM!

Dr. Song Vitamin C Serum Plus Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin E Review PLUS GIVEAWAY!

I'm super excited tonight to bring you a review of quite possibly my favorite Vitamin C serum I've ever used! If you have been a reader of my blog for awhile now, you might have noticed that I've tried ALOT of them in the past, so I definitely know a good serum from a bad serum! Here's a photo of the serum at hand:

A little bit about the company:
Right?!

First of all, I want to compliment them on their labeling and packaging. I really like the simplistic take they have on things. I've noticed some companies that make Vitamin C serums and the like tend to have hideous, tacky, cheesy labeling, but Dr. Song does not.  I really like it a lot.

Honestly, in my opinion, you can really tell that this is a professionally made product. Unlike many other serums, it isn't overly scented or dyed some weird orange color to make it look more like vitamin C. Honestly, it doesn't really have a smell to it at all, which is great for me because my skin has been weird and extra sensitive lately. The addition of hyaluronic acid and Vitamin E make this product go on SUPER smoothly and sink into my skin amazingly fast. It leaves my skin feeling refreshed, invigorated, and highly moisturized, while still giving me that tight, after using vitamin c serum feeling that makes me feel like the product is really doing it's job.

Overall, I can say that I really love this Vitamin C serum. Probably more than any of the ones I've ever reviewed, so THEREFORE, I'm running a GIVEAWAY! So you can try it out too!!

But first, if you'd like to find out more about Dr. Song's Vitamin C Serum with Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin E CLICK HERE! You can pick this one up for ONLY $9.99!!! Finally an affordable Vitamin C serum that is HIGH QUALITY to boot!!

Onto the giveaway! This is currently open to U.S. only at this time!! Once the winner is announced, I will send the information over to the company and from then on it is in their hands!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Good luck!! This giveaway will end Sunday night 10/5 at Midnight! So it's a pretty quick one! More posts to follow!!

Ipsy October Unboxing!!

It's that time again!!! The middle of the month has become my favorite part of the month since I subscribed to Ipsy. :) For those of you who don't already know, Ipsy is a makeup/beauty subscription program. For just $10 a month you receive a cute bag filled with 4-5 usually full sized mystery products all based on a survey where you tell them what you like or what you'd like to try. I personally love it. Ipsy has enabled me to try out SO many new brands that I would otherwise never try on my own. Definitely check it out if you like makeup, nail polish, or any beauty product!!!

You can use my referral link HERE!!!

This month was an AWESOME month for me! After last month's disappointing bag this one definitely makes up for it. You can see it right here.
The theme for the bags this month was "Art of Beauty" which is super cute. :)

Here is what I received:

I personally don't care for the actual bag this month. It's pretty plain. :)

I received a Coastal Scents medium shadow brush, Sexy Hair Spray Clay, Zoya nail polish, Bella Terra mineral shimmer, and Ole Hendriksen Truth Creme

Here is a better look at the brush. I personally can never have enough eyeshadow brushes and mine were getting pretty old so it works for me. :) It works really nicely and blends easily. It is also super soft. I'd definitely buy a whole set. You can purchase their brushes right HERE. Or you can use this link to buy this specific brush for only $2.49 which is a definite steal for a quality brush.

Next up is Bella Terra Mineral Cosmetics Mineral Shimmer in Navy. I actually would have rather received the purple color they were giving out but I will surely be able to find some use for this. It is VERY highly pigmented and goes on super smooth. I haven't actually used to as eyeshadow yet but when I swatched it, it was very nice. I'd never heard of this brand before, but I think I will definitely purchase more of these in the future. Their website states these are 8 in 1. They can be used as "Creamy & Matte eyeshadow, nail polish, eyeliner, mascara, lip color, body glitter, and hair streaks" I'm not quite sure about using this Navy Blue for all of those things, but HEY whatever floats your boat. :) They have like 60 really pretty colors and you can purchase them HERE for $14.99 which is good for a pigment. You can also buy 9 stacks of them for $69.99 right here.
See how nice and smooth and shimmery it is? I kind of love it.

Here is the Sexy Hair Spray clay. I really love this brand of hair products so I was excited to receive this even though I wanted the blow dry gel. I used this yesterday after straightening my hair and it was pretty nice. It didn't leave my hair sticky at all, which is awesome in my opinion because most hairsprays do. It is supposed to be for adding texture but I tried it for flyaways and keeping my hair straight all day and it worked great! You can buy a full sized right HERE at Ulta for $18.95 or a trial size for $8.00.

This little thing right here is Ole Hendrikson Truth Creme. I was pretty stoked to receive this because I love trying new moisturizers. I've used it twice so far and the second time was much better than the first. The main problem with this is it has a SUPER strong orange scent to it. If you can't handle fragrances then this is definitely not your product. It goes on pretty smooth but I think it's a little bit too greasy for my liking. Truth Creme is supposed to be really great for anti aging. The trial size they provided is .25 oz while the full size is 1.7 oz You can purchase the full size right HERE for $45.

Last and my personal favorite is the Zoya nail polish. I received Mason out of the Fall 2013 Cashmere's and Satin's collection, which is a purpley/pink shimmer. Their website describes it as "Metallic" but I don't really see it that way. I absolutely LOVE it!!! The picture above is three coats in overcast light and the next one is with flash.. Zoya is one of my favorite brands even though I don't own very many. It goes on super smooth and not streaky at all. You can purchase this color from their website HERE for $8.

So that's it! I love my October Glam Bag! And here comes the best part..... Ipsy Coupon Codes!!

Mani of the day!!

I'm so so so excited for fall!! I can finally wear my sweaters, boots, hoodies and fall colored nail polishes!! For my nails today I decided to do a glitter ombre! I am OBSESSED with glitter ombres and fades right now. They are super cute for any season but I think my favorite gold glitter is perfect for fall! I probably need a little bit more practice with them but I'm really liking my nails!! Hope you enjoy! :)

For this mani I used:
Sephora by OPI - I'm with Brad
Sinful Colors - All About You

The glitter ombre itself was really easy to do! All you need is a makeup sponge. First paint you nails a solid color and wait until they are almost all the way dry. Then you paint the glitter onto the sponge and just sponge it on slowly and make sure there is more at the tip of the nail! :) Then seal it with a topcoat of course!

Another tragedy I'm also out of cuticle oil!!! Anyone have any suggestions for a brand that will help a really big problem with cracking cuticles???

Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do!! :)

Julep Maven October Bombshell Unboxing!

For those of you who don't know what the Julep Maven program is, its a month polish subscription box with different style profiles. You receive either 2 polishes and one beauty product, two beauty products, or three polishes for $19.99 a month. It's usually hit or miss with me but lately I have been loving what they have!!
If you want to sign up you can use my referral link HERE and use the code "FREEBOX" to get your first box for free. They also give you the option of adding additional polishes on for like... $4.99 which is super cheap! That's how I ended up with almost 100 lovely Juleps in my collection. :)

I was so excited to receive my October Julep box today. I want to apologize in advance that I took the majority of these photos with my cell phone in my car. I couldn't contain myself any longer!!! This box is so awesome. Not only was it free but I love every single thing in it. I only wish I had ordered some add ons... especially Casper... which glows in the dark...

ANYWAYS here is my October Maven box this month!!!

Julep did a pretty bad job wrapping up my goodies this month... but that okay. It's what's inside that counts right?

And here's what it looked like without the tissue paper.

I received the Bombshell box this month, which is the one the quiz picked out for me... I'd say its pretty accurate. Bombshell is usually what I order.

This months Bombshell Maven box came with their Kajal eye glider (eyeliner) in a dual ended pencil in brown and black, a "black latex" color called Cleopatra, and a greenish teal microglitter color called Valerie which I've heard has been for sale at Sephora for awhile. They also added a little bag of candy corn which I love so that is pretty great too.

Not going to lie I was a little on the fence about the whole nailpolish maker making an eyeliner thing... but I actually really like what I see so far with this liner. I'm a bit of an eyeliner snob as you've probably noticed and I usually only use gel and liquid, but the Kajal liner I received is nice and dark and goes on really smooth. I only wish we could have chosen between brown and black and not gotten a dual pencil. I never use brown liner. Only black.
It also came with what Julep has deemed "the best sharpener they've ever used" but I haven't used it yet. I don't really see what could be so special about it.... :)

See how nice and rich the colors are?! So excited to use it for work tomorrow.

Here's another swatch picture for you.

This is really the only picture I took that properly shows all the shimmer in Valerie.. It's a really really pretty greenish teal color with lots of different colored shimmer. It only took two coats on my toes to be fully opaque.

And overcast outside

Maybe I'm missing something here but I'm pretty sure Cleopatra is just a matte black. Either way I'm really in love with it. It went on sooo smooth and again, two coats and it was totally opaque. Clean up was super easy and it dried really fast. Cleopatra is going to be a great color for Fall/Halloween for me.

Here is Cleopatra with Valerie dots as an accent... but you can't really see them. Both great colors though, just not so much together :)

And here is it again wish flash for you!

So that is my October Bombshell box. Overall it is super great and I will try out the eyeliner for real tomorrow and type up a little review of it!!! :) Have a good night and don't forget to follow us on here and on Facebook!!
