Guest Post! Melissa's January Glam Box Review!

Ok sorry it is a bit late but I am starting to thaw out now, only to find out we could be getting snow on Wed! Yes Im in Texas! -ok rant over. Now on to the fabulous stuff I got!

Ok the first thing I ripped into was the candy so there is no picture of it. Im sorry but you can't really blame me! It was chocolate! And it was delicious I have no regrets - plus my kids would have found it and sampled it for me and then how would I be able to tell you how awesome it was?

Ok so now that I have justified my eating the chocolate before I could take a picture of it, let's get to those awesome candles ! Omg the only complaint I have is that they really made me crave a latte! Good thing I used them in the kitchen next to a full pot of coffee! If you have not checked this candle company out yet you should, you won't be disappointed!

Next we have this interesting make your own perfume kit. It's pretty potent even in the plastic wrap. But if you like musky scents this is for you.

Now for my most looked forward to item in the box! The mineral shadows :) One thing I love about this company is the personal care they put into to each box. I told them I have hazel eyes but lately they have been blue but I also own alot of brown shadows, so I received deep plum and silver so if I want a change of pace there it is. They did come with a primer but I don't use that for my shadows but they are shimmery in the tube so I am gonna use them for when I feel lazy about putting on makeup or wake up late.

The 2nd most looked forward to item well wished for item was this great loofa foot soap. It could not come at a better time since like I said with this cold snap and it being 25 out it took some pretty convincing conversions in my head to jump in the shower LOL. The only complaint I kinda have is that it's pretty big and that can be good for some but I put my special soap in a travel soap container so my kids won't use all my stuff so I had to cut it in half . If they made smaller bars that would be great!

Also Im especially fond of the sample of the HazelBrooke Exfoliating scrub and the Soaplandia samples. Most would want to use them in the shower and im sure they work great for that but I used them after work (Im a housekeeper so my hands go through ALOT) and I have to say that my hands have done a 180.
The rose mist from Mineral Fountain Is also great. But I could be a bit biased since roses are my favorite flower too. Yes I fully admit to spritzing some on my pillows in the bedroom,I like the fact that again I don't need much maybe even half a spritz . So far my hubs has not complained so I must be doing it right!

The last surprise I got in my box was more polish remover pads! You have no idea how happy I was to get these, again with the personal care we get! I raved about them in my last glam box review, and I'm really being truthful these are the only thing I have used since I started getting glam box and I see a real improvement in my nails ! Btw you can order them on their site if you just want the polish remover pads or if your still on the fence about a full sz box you can always get a mini mystery bag!
And again if you do order anything from this fabulous up and coming company please let them know that Melissa Spangle sent you!
Ok guys see you next review! I have mystery bags coming so I'll be sure to know what goodies I get!

Ipsy December 2013 Unboxing!

It's that time again!! My December Ipsy bag has arrived. Aside from the perfume leakage that it seems like everyone experienced, I'm mostly okay with my bag. It wasn't the most exciting bag or anything. I figured there would be a Christmas theme or something, but I did redeem my points for a Beauty Blender that I am very excited to have in my life! :)

Here's what I received: English Laundry Perfume, Nyx Lipstick, Nicka K Nail Polish, Be a Bombshell The One Stick, Pop Beauty Eyeshadow Trio, and my Beauty Blender

For those of you who aren't subscribed, Ipsy is an awesome subscription service where for $10 a month you receive 5 full or deluxe sample sized beauty items, ranging from skin care, to makeup, to nail polish. If you are thinking about signing up, make sure and check out my other reviews located HERE for November,  HERE for October, and HERE for September. Then use my referral link please HERE

Here is a closer look at the Nicka K Nail Polish I received. I don't really like red, but it's a pretty nice bright color. I traded it for some eyelashes. I'm glad I didn't receive the ugly brown nail polish color by Nicka K.
This is the Pop Beauty Eyeshadow Trio in Smokin' Hot. It's a pretty nice little palette for smoky eyes and I tried it out tonight. I did unfortunately notice a little bit of creasing in the middle color, but I think a better eye primer would solve that. Here's some swatches and my makeup. :)
I really like the middle grey color. It's got a really nice shimmer to it, and the dark color is great for creases. A little goes a long way with these colors.
Here's all three on. They blend together very nicely.
Here's the Be a Bombshell... The One Stick. I received the color Flustered. It's a really nice red color with a tiny bit of shimmer. I haven't tried it on my cheeks or eyes yet. I don't think I would actually use this color on my eyes, I think it would crease alot and look weird, but its a really great lipstick and is huge.
Sorry for the blurry photo, but here is my Nyx Round Lipstick in Iris. It looks really pretty on my hand, but totally washes out on my face. I like nude lipsticks and had high hopes. However, it does look great mixed with The One Stick. Here's some swatches:

And here's the two colors mixed together on my lips. It created a really nice, soft pinkish red color that I absolutely love. Definitely my new favorite color for winter.

Here's the perfume sample. It's a 5mL size sample which is pretty nice and the bag came with a men's and a women's. They both smell really nice in my opinion and my husband was super excited to actually receive something he could use for once. Unfortunately, however, they leaked, so I will have to wait to receive my replacement to get the full product sample.

Last but not least, my beauty blender. I used it today for the first time and it pretty much changed my makeup life. I don't usually use liquid foundations because they go on too thick and cause me to look weirdly colored or break out. But this bad boy made it go on like a dream. It has a small end for precision which I really love for my under eye area. :) Everyone should own one of these!!

Here's a list of promo codes from this month's bag! Hope you enjoyed the post! I can't wait to receive my first Birch Box in a few weeks so I can review it too!

November Ipsy Unboxing!!!

I seriously can't believe it's already mid November. This year has totally flown by since I got my new job in March. But, that being said, it's Ipsy time again!! Ipsy unboxing posts are always my favorite to do every month!! This month's bag contained 6 items which I thought was really awesome. The 6th item was a bonus item from Em Cosmetic's which is Michelle Phan's makeup line if you don't already know. I don't know much about her makeup but I know I love her makeup tutorials on YouTube.

For those of you who don't already know, Ipsy is a subscription service where for $10 every month you get a mystery bag of 4-5 deluxe sample or full size beauty items. Plus they come in a cute bag and you get to fill out a profile to tailor the bags to your beauty needs and what you like and don't like. I am very happy with this subscription. I almost signed up for Birchbox instead but I'm really glad I didn't. I've received everything from nail polish, to lipstick, gloss, bronzer, blush, mascara, and beyond. It's a really fun program if you're in to trying new makeup brands you wouldn't normally buy for yourself.

If you want to sign up, please use my referral link HERE, you won't regret it!

So here is my November bag in all it's glory! I am pleased with most everything I received this month.
I got:
  • Kiss everEZlashes double pack
  • Em Waterliner in Amazing Grey
  • Starlooks Gem eye pencil in Amethyst
  • Nailtini Nail laquer in Caviar cocktail
  • Be A Bombshell Lip Crayon in Shameless
  • Pixie Bronzer in Subtly Suntouched

First up is the Kiss lashes! As you can see I've already used them. I received the lashes in 03. I love false eyelashes so much. My regular lashes are pretty long already, but I love to play with falsies!! :) These are pretty good false lashes in my opinion and they come with an applicator. I found that the glue that comes with them kind of sucks, but I had some other kind laying around so no worries there. I don't really care for the applicator either. My lashes just kept getting stuck to it. Fingers work better for me. These retail for 19.95 on Amazon. You can purchase them HERE. A little pricey for lashes in my opinion, but they might be cheaper elsewhere. Oh just kidding, I found a single pair on Amazon for $2.01 with $3.99 shipping. Definitely worth that. Go and get them HERE
Here's a picture of them on after they'd been on all day. They blend in really nicely with my real ones so they don't look super trashy and fake. :)

Next is the Starlook Gem Eyeliner in Amethyst. I haven't used this on my eyes yet because I'm trading it for the Topaz, but I have swatched it (I'll show you in a minute), and it's really really pretty. It is a super shimmery light purple color that I think would be perfect for winged eyeliner or in the corners or your eyes. Everyone needs a little bling eyeliner in their life right? lol It retails for $14.00 on the Starlooks site and you can get it HERE. I will probably pick up one of these in Myth (a shiny black) and Fancy (A shiny green) while ipsy has the 40% off going on. They look so pretty!!
Here is the "Amazing Grey" Em liner. It's a really nice Charcoal grey color and is supposed to be waterproof. It also has a little smudger at the end which is pretty convenient if you like to smudge. :) I've been wanting to try something from this line for a long time now, so I'm pretty happy we were all given something to test!! I'll definitely review the purple one after I get it from Michelle on Monday. These retail for $20 and there are 12 different colors to choose from! You can get them HERE
Here's the swatches. Isn't the Starlooks color so pretty?!

Next up is the Nailtini polish in Caviar Cocktail. I'm so glad I got this color and not Champagne because I HATE bronze nail polish and I love silver. I have so many silver nail polishes and I could use a million more. This color is a darker silver color and will look really great with some little fake diamonds or studs on it. I'm much more impressed with it than the Mai Tai color we received a few months ago. Nail Tini is a 3 free brand which is pretty cool. It retails for $13 on the nail tini website but you can buy it for $11.02 on Amazon and save a couple bucks HERE
Here's a box swatch.

I also received a Lip Crayon by Be a Bombshell in the color Shameless. Not sure if I'm going to use this or not, I may try to trade it. The last lip crayon I got I absolutely hated. Shameless is a burgundy shimmer color. I know it's fall but I probably would have kept this if I'd gotten, I don't know, hot pink or something. lol  It retails for $14 and you can buy it HERE.
It looks alot brighter than this swatch in person. I imagine it's buildable as well. A nice shade for fall though.

Last is the Pixi bronzer. I wanted to love this. I love bronzer. I use it every day. Unfortunately I received the light color and it totally disappears on my skin. It has a nice shimmer to it, but other than that it's pretty much useless for me. This is the second Pixi product I've gotten that I didn't love. I don't understand exactly who this color is supposed to "bronze" but it's definitely not me. You can buy this HERE on Amazon for $17.85 and it comes with a Kabuki brush. Which is always nice to have. The packaging is cute though. :)
Can you see it? I sure can't. lol

All in all, bronzer shade aside, I'm still thrilled with the bag. Hell, I'm even thrilled with the bag itself. I forgot to mention it. It's a shiny gold color and I love all things shiny. :) The total value of my bag was $90+ dollars and for $10 that is a STEAL! Again if you want to sign up my referral link is right HERE!!

Here comes my favorite part of the Ipsy Unboxing!!! Coupon Codes!! Here there are in no particular order:
30% off any purchase at Em Cosmetics - Use Ipsy30
40% off any purchase & a free Lip Gloss from Be a Bombshell - Use Ipsy40
50% off and free eyeliner with $25+ from NailTini - Use ipsy4glam
25% off at Pixi Beauty - Use Bronzepixi
40% off any purchase at Starlooks - Use Ipsy
30% off Kiss or Ienvy lashes at Beauty Online Supply - Use Ipsy
30% off at Glam Glow - Use Ipsy (everyone has been freaking out about this product. Idk what it is)
20% off Galaxy Chic Palette at BH Cosmetics - Use Ipsy20
30% off at Cailyn - Use Ipsy30
50% off any purchase at HSI Professional - Use Ipsy50SS

And that's it! Great coupons this month, great bag, love Ipsy!
Much love to all!

Top Ten Lip Items! What in my bag?

Hello my lovelies! I am very excited to announce that I have added my good friend Chynel as a contributor to the blog! She loves makeup almost as much, if not MORE than myself, and I'm very excited to see what she has to bring to us at 2 Girls 1 Blog!! She should be reviewing her Julep Gem Collection (that I am totally jealous of) she recently received today or tomorrow. I guess that technically makes us 3 girls 1 blog, but since Nicole is more of a guest poster, I think it's going to work out just fine. I'm a firm believer that more content = a better blog, and it will take a lot of stress away from me.

Side comment: Nicole, you will probably be mad at me, but I want to be successful and provide as much wonderful content to our blog as possible. I think you will ultimately be pleased with my decision.

Onward to the fabulous lip goodies!!! I always carry around a minimum of one of my Ipsy bags filled to the brim with lipstick and gloss where ever I go. I love being glossy almost as much as I love eyeliner.

Love them!

I'm going to start with Maybelline's Baby Lips in Pink Punch. This is hands down my favorite lip balm of all time for a few reasons. First, it really is awesome at moisturizing your lips. Baby lips gets rid of my chapped lips in just a few days. Second, the color is gorgeous! It's the perfect baby pink color, not too bright and bold for those that are scared of intense colored lips. It's a color that is probably better suited for spring or summer, but I'm not going to lie I use it year round. You can purchase it here!

Next, is my all time two favorites to use together. I like to use them alone as well, but together they make the perfect combination. First is Sephora's Ultra Shine Lip Gloss in Pin Up Pink. I love Sephora's lip gloss, and it comes in tons of  great colors. I've owned a couple of colors in the past, and I think the shimmery ones are really great too. They have just the right amount of shimmer, and they aren't overly sticky. This color has no shimmer, it's just the perfect, baby pink gloss that isn't too bright and isn't too sticky. The other product in the photo is Sexy Mother Pucker by Soap & Glory in Candy Gloss. This product is a plumping gloss, and I love love love it. I've been using it for years to give my lips more of a full look and it works wonders. Plus it leaves you with a great tingle feeling and it's pretty much addicting. You can buy Sephora's lip gloss here, Sexy Mother Pucker here.

These next two lipsticks are part of Julep's Paris Jazz trio. They're described as "silky little lip colors inspired by the roaring 20's". When these came out Julep was boasting about how they were the most moisturizing lip colors ever, I don't really see that. What I do see, however is how lovely these colors are. The top photo is "Lady in Red", which I often use for date nights with my husband. It is a completely Matte bright red color and is great. The bottom is "Sweet Lorraine", which I like to wear to work with my Starlook's Tipsy lip pencil. It's a bubblegum pink very sheer lipstick. I wish they came in full size and individually! Get them here!

These next two are my go to lipsticks for fall this year. The one on the top is Mirabella's Posy, which in the swatch is on the left. It's part of their color sheers collection, and I can't find it on their website, but you can buy it here. It looks quite a bit darker on my lips than this swatch and is a really nice reddish, pinkish sheer color. Perfect for work or a night out. It is also SUPER moisturizing because it's made with a mango butter base. I did notice I had to reapply it more than usual. The other color is Kat Von D's Painted Love Lipstick in Lolita, which has been my favorite for years. I got this sample from Sephora, but I also have it in her lip gloss. It's a dark rose color and goes on completely opaque in just one coat. Not super moisturizing but it lasts for hours without coming off. You can buy it here

The first one in the next picture is Urban Decay's Revolution lipstick in "Anarchy". I received this product in an Ipsy bag awhile back and I'm pretty much in love with it. It is the hottest pink lipstick I've ever seen in my life and one coat lasts the entire day. In fact, if you don't scrub the crap out of your lips before you go to bed, it is still there the next day. Found that out this morning. It goes on so smooth and is kind of shiny like a gloss. There's nothing bad to say about it and I always get tons of compliments when I wear it! I want to own every single color of the brand. Buy it here.
The middle is Sephora's Glossy Gloss in "Marquisette". I love it because it looks great over every color I have and I use it constantly. It makes any matte color look amazing and looks pretty cool by its self. Marquisette is a clear gloss with tons of gold glitter in it. You can buy it here.
Last but certainly not least is Julep's strawberry mint lip balm. I'm pretty sure every Julep Maven own's at least one of these, and if they don't, they want to. It's the perfect lip balm and it tastes amazing. It doesn't really have a color, but its got a little bit of shimmer and makes your lips super duper soft and silky. You can try to buy it here, but it's usually sold out.

So yeah, that is my arsenal of lip faves. I love each and every one of them, and you should too! :) What are your favorite lippies?? Any suggestions for plumping glosses?? Hot pink lip gloss is my favorite, so if anyone knows a hot hot pink plumper, I'm sold!

Xx Ashley C.

P.S. All of these products were purchased by me and picked by me to review based on my own opinion.

Ipsy October Unboxing!!

It's that time again!!! The middle of the month has become my favorite part of the month since I subscribed to Ipsy. :) For those of you who don't already know, Ipsy is a makeup/beauty subscription program. For just $10 a month you receive a cute bag filled with 4-5 usually full sized mystery products all based on a survey where you tell them what you like or what you'd like to try. I personally love it. Ipsy has enabled me to try out SO many new brands that I would otherwise never try on my own. Definitely check it out if you like makeup, nail polish, or any beauty product!!!

You can use my referral link HERE!!!

This month was an AWESOME month for me! After last month's disappointing bag this one definitely makes up for it. You can see it right here.
The theme for the bags this month was "Art of Beauty" which is super cute. :)

Here is what I received:

I personally don't care for the actual bag this month. It's pretty plain. :)

I received a Coastal Scents medium shadow brush, Sexy Hair Spray Clay, Zoya nail polish, Bella Terra mineral shimmer, and Ole Hendriksen Truth Creme

Here is a better look at the brush. I personally can never have enough eyeshadow brushes and mine were getting pretty old so it works for me. :) It works really nicely and blends easily. It is also super soft. I'd definitely buy a whole set. You can purchase their brushes right HERE. Or you can use this link to buy this specific brush for only $2.49 which is a definite steal for a quality brush.

Next up is Bella Terra Mineral Cosmetics Mineral Shimmer in Navy. I actually would have rather received the purple color they were giving out but I will surely be able to find some use for this. It is VERY highly pigmented and goes on super smooth. I haven't actually used to as eyeshadow yet but when I swatched it, it was very nice. I'd never heard of this brand before, but I think I will definitely purchase more of these in the future. Their website states these are 8 in 1. They can be used as "Creamy & Matte eyeshadow, nail polish, eyeliner, mascara, lip color, body glitter, and hair streaks" I'm not quite sure about using this Navy Blue for all of those things, but HEY whatever floats your boat. :) They have like 60 really pretty colors and you can purchase them HERE for $14.99 which is good for a pigment. You can also buy 9 stacks of them for $69.99 right here.
See how nice and smooth and shimmery it is? I kind of love it.

Here is the Sexy Hair Spray clay. I really love this brand of hair products so I was excited to receive this even though I wanted the blow dry gel. I used this yesterday after straightening my hair and it was pretty nice. It didn't leave my hair sticky at all, which is awesome in my opinion because most hairsprays do. It is supposed to be for adding texture but I tried it for flyaways and keeping my hair straight all day and it worked great! You can buy a full sized right HERE at Ulta for $18.95 or a trial size for $8.00.

This little thing right here is Ole Hendrikson Truth Creme. I was pretty stoked to receive this because I love trying new moisturizers. I've used it twice so far and the second time was much better than the first. The main problem with this is it has a SUPER strong orange scent to it. If you can't handle fragrances then this is definitely not your product. It goes on pretty smooth but I think it's a little bit too greasy for my liking. Truth Creme is supposed to be really great for anti aging. The trial size they provided is .25 oz while the full size is 1.7 oz You can purchase the full size right HERE for $45.

Last and my personal favorite is the Zoya nail polish. I received Mason out of the Fall 2013 Cashmere's and Satin's collection, which is a purpley/pink shimmer. Their website describes it as "Metallic" but I don't really see it that way. I absolutely LOVE it!!! The picture above is three coats in overcast light and the next one is with flash.. Zoya is one of my favorite brands even though I don't own very many. It goes on super smooth and not streaky at all. You can purchase this color from their website HERE for $8.

So that's it! I love my October Glam Bag! And here comes the best part..... Ipsy Coupon Codes!!

Don't forget if you like the looks of the Ipsy Glam Bag program you can sign up using my referral link! It's a reallllly great program if you love makeup!!!

Have a great fall day! Xx Ashley C.
