Frankenstein Nails for Halloween 2014

Good morning lovelies! I've been trying for WEEKS to figure out what kind of Halloween nails I wanted to do this year... and tonight I think I've finally decided on Frankenstein/Bride of Frankenstein nails! :)

Now, forewarning, I'm not like super awesome at nail art or anything, but I can tell a BIG improvement from last year, and Halloween is my favorite time to do cutesy things with my nails! :) I still kind of want to figure out how to do some witch nails, or zombie nails..

SO without further adieu, HERE THEY ARE in all their not so spooky glory!

For this mani I used:

I've had this China Glaze for awhile now... I have absolutely NO idea why I hadn't used it until now.... because it's basically the most amazing lime green EVER. You can't tell in this picture because I used Instagram filters and whatnot, but here's a picture of it in all it's amazing glory pre-cleanup and pre-franken-nails!

Lime green WHAT!? This is with my matte topcoat over it, but it didn't really need it, as it's super neon and kind of matte already. I love it so much, like if I could only pick on polish color for the rest of my life, I'd definitely pick this one! What do you think?!

Okay so ANYWAY, this is a super easy mani to do, if you want a real tutorial, I can make one for you, so just comment if you do and I'll make a pictorial. :) I'd be happy to! I haven't made one in ages, and I kind of love making them!!

Directions:

Paint nails your base green color.
After that's dry, on your three non accent nails, using a black polish and striper brush, make stick marks randomly over the nail. Two will probably suffice, as some of mine have three and look messy-ish.
Next, on the nails you want to be Frankensteins, paint in the hair using the same striper brush. I made my Franken... Man have squared off hair, and the Bride of Frankenstein have her classic big hair.
Next I drew on the mouth of my Frankenstein using the same stitch type design as the non-accent nails.
I let that dry for a minute to avoid smearing as much as possible, then used a larger dotting tool and my white polish (Nicolette) to dot on the eyes. I definitely had shaky hands last night when I did these and one of my eyes got a little wonky.. so be careful!
Then I used a small dotting tool to dot in the eyes with black.
Add the silver (Rebel) zig-zag streak to Bride of Frankenstein's hair.
Draw on pink (or whatever color) bow, and you're done with your nail art! Unless you want Bride of Frankenstein to have little eyelashes and a nose like mine, in which case you can paint those on whenever.
Topcoat and DONE! I used matte topcoat over these just because I'm out of regular. lol But either would probably look awesome!

Top 10 Favorite Nail Polish Colors for Fall 2014

So I've decided to compile a list of my top ten favorite nail polishes this fall. It's usually pretty hard for me to make these lists, since there's just SO many that I absolutely LOVE, but I'm going to try my best! :) Let me know what yours are too in the comments!! The fall collection looks pretty sweet and has everything from red, grey, brown and blue. They are all super nice colors! I really dig the grey one. These are a nice choice if you don't like shimmers, plus you can get them at the drug store!

9. Color Club - Nail Polish, Brown, Feverish, .05 Ounce

Fall is a great time to try out unusual colors that you wouldn't normally pick. Like brown. I've actually got a couple browns now in my collection and I think they're pretty cool. They're versatile, a great alternative for black, and great for nail art! Because you never know when you're going to need to paint an owl, and you don't want to be like oh crap, where's brown!?

Purple chromes seem to be another one of my go-tos for fall. I love purple in general, but chrome seems weird to use until it gets kind of cold outside in my opinion. Almost a winter color, but not quite! :)

Holiday Makeup Looks for Everyone!

Golds, plums, greens, and blues are all in this season for eye shadow colors, and are among my favorite colors to use for my brown eyes. Reds and plums are the lip color of choice and long and lush eye lashes are whats hot! Try mixing and matching to see what looks good on you. I personally like a smooth, matte lip and love to use super shimmer gold eyeshadows!! AND Don't forget to use bronzer to avoid looking too pale, since you're probably like me and losing that summer glow, and fast!

Body Merry Cellulite Defense Gel-Cream Review!!

Today, I would like to bring to you a review of an excellent product made by Body Merry!! I've been using this product for a few weeks now and I really like what it has done for my skin!!

Meet their Cellulite Defense Gel-Cream!

Up until I received this to review, I'd never heard of Body Merry, but I've been lucky enough to receive not one but FOUR products of theirs to review and they're all excellent!!

First of all, I love the scent of this product. It has a minty, menthol scent to it, and it's very strong, so if you're sensitive to smells, I wouldn't recommend this product. I'd also add to make sure and don't rub your eyes after you use it. :) It smells kind of like Icy Hot. I love it. I feel like the added menthol in it makes it feel like it's working better on my tummy and thigh flab.

This product name is a pretty good description of what you're going to get. It isn't a cream, but isn't a gel either. It's kind of in the middle of the two, kind of feels like jello, but more creamy, but not quite like pudding! lol If that makes ANY sense at all! :P It comes in a little tub like the one shown above instead of a pump container like you'd expect a Body cream to come in.

As for results, I haven't seen like SUPER amazing results, but I do honestly feel like it's working, but I probably need to use it every day. It does also leave my skin feeling moisturized, and it doesn't make me hot and sweaty like some of the other cellulite creams I've tried, which is a MAJOR plus!!

Fall Golden EOTD!

Sunday I decided to play with my Sephora Metallize cream palette that I just got back from my cousin. My my how I have missed it! It's filled with 4 shades: silver, gold, bronze, and a really golden gold color. It goes on super smooth and if you apply if over a powder it lasts all day!

For this entire eye look I used:
Sephora Eyelid Primer
Sephora Metallize Mini Cream Palette - Bronze and the Yellow gold color (discontinued :( )
Avon Expert Mega Palette - Brown color for crease (This palette is AWESOME check it out)
Kat Von D True Romance Palette - highlight color in the corner is Heavens
Julep Kajal Eyeliner in black
Elf Cream Liner
Makeup Forever Smoky Lash Mascara

First I filled my whole lid with Heavens by Kat Von D. Next I applied the Avon brown color to the crease and blended out. Next, I added the bronze color from the metallize palette to the outer corners of my eye, then decided it wasn't bright enough so I blended it with Gold. I added a bit more Heavens to my inside corner and underneath my eye. I also added a little bit more brown to the crease and blended it better. Then I lined my whole eye and waterline with the Kajal Eye Glider. It goes on really nice and dark and I've found if I use it under my Elf it makes it stay better. The I did a heavy winged eye with the Elf liner. I left lit a little smoky and I really really like how it turned out. I used Makeup Forever Smoky Lash mascara because I couldn't remember why I hate it so much. I remember now. Excuse the clumps and horrible mess it made of my EOTD.

Nutra Nail Speed Dry Top Coat Review

Recently, I ran out of Seche Vite. Sad day. Apparently, Walgreens doesn't carry it, so I picked up a bottle of Nutra Nail's Speed Dry 30 Second Top Coat. I'd used their Nail hardener before and really liked it. Plus, I did some quick searching for topcoat reviews and for the price, it seemed like a good buy. It cost a mere $3.99!!!

Overall, I really like this topcoat. I find it comparable to Seche Vite with significantly less shrinkage. It takes a little bit longer to dry your nails and is not quite as high gloss. That being said, if you follow the instructions and wait 1 minutes after painting your nails to apply it, it dries them to the touch in about another minute! This works for me! I don't know about you, but I always find that I have something important to do right after I finish my nails and end up screwing them up, so fast dry time is my number one priority!!!

Here are some pictures of my current mani with the Nutra Nail Top Coat! I took these pictures on day two so you will see there is minimal shrinkage, no chipping, and they still look FABULOUS!

EDIT: I should probably mention that I have an office job and type constantly all day. My nails usually chip an hour after coming to work, so this is extra impressive for day 2!

Blue Shadow for Brown Eyes!

So I don't really know how I didn't realize until now how much blue eye makeup makes my normally boring brown eyes POP! Since I received the Bella Terra mineral shimmer in Navy in my Ipsy bag last month I decided to play with a little blue, and WOW did I end up loving it!

To start off, I want to kind of review the Bella Terra. I'd never heard of this brand before Ipsy, but it's pretty neat! They are made of 100% mica and do not contain any weird chemicals or anything harsh that would make it uncomfortable/impossible for people with sensitive skin to wear. Their shimmers are multi-use according to their website and can be used 9 different ways! It's basically a mineral pigment and you can use it as wet or dry eyeshadow, depending on how intense, matte, or creamy you want it to look. You can also use it as an eyeliner, which I don't think would work all that great, as the navy is really shimmer and not all that bold. I like either black or BRIGHT and bold liners. Other uses include nail polish, hair streaks, body glitter, lip color, and mascara. Basically you can use it any way you can think of. I would really like to try out some of their other colors. You can buy them in singles or in an epic 9 stack, which is like a giant tube of shimmer greatness!!! I counted 53 colors total on the single color page!! So many to choose from!! I hope they go on sale for Christmas because I need the Hot Pink in my life.
Anyways, so I originally wasn't all that impressed with it as an eye shadow because I wore just the Navy on my lids, no other colors or special blending or tricks. I didn't use a primer because I was in a rush, and I think that was my big mistake. :/ It had creased horribly by the end of the day and on one eye it was basically gone altogether. But, for the sake of trusting my Ipsy makeup picks, I decided to try it again for the makeup look I'm about to show you, and this time I did, in fact, use a primer. I used it on the outer portion of my eye and in the crease and it lasted all day long and blended beautifully with my urban decay and Kat Von D!!! :)

So for this EOTD, I used:

Elf Essesntials Eyelid Primer
Kat Von D- "Heavens" and "Carvaggio" out of the True Romance "Saint" Palette
Urban Decay - "Kiddie Pool" (Sadly discontinued, it's my favorite)
Bella Terra Mineral Shimmer - Navy
Julep Kajal Eye Glider - Black
Elf Cream Eyeliner - Black
Sephora Collection Glitter Eyeliner - 05 Blue
Elizabeth Mott - It's So Big Mascara

I started by priming my lids with the Elf primer. I really like it because it's super cheap ($1.00 at Target) and does it's job beautifully. Then I used Heavens all over my lids as a base shimmer. I really like shimmer.

Next I applied Kiddie Pool all over my lids and blended it really nicely with the Heaven. I then took the Bella Terry Navy color and applied it to the outsides of my lids and in the crease. Then I added the brown color and added it to the crease and outer V for a smoky effect.

Next I added the Kajal Eyeliner on to my waterline on both the top and bottom because it is really dark black. Then I went over it in the Elf Cream Eyeliner because it helps the Kajal stay on and not bleed off like it does on it's own. Plus, I can't do winged eyes with a pencil :)

Once the cream liner was nice and dry, I applied the blue glitter over it and made sure that it was nice and thick so the blue really pops out. Then I added like four coats of mascara!

This next one is kind of not as neat as the other side, but HEY It happens :) I'm no pro.

And last but not least Here is my completed makeup for the day!

See how it makes my brown eyes really pop!? I think it's great! :) I don't even really like the color blue all that much but I will definitely be doing this much more often.

Affordable, Colorful Eyeliner!

I'm all for using glitter eyeliner on top of my regular black to spice it up for a night out. How great are these?! I love them personally. I love finding hidden gems on Amazon.

Perfect MAC Shadow!

This is one of the prettiest MAC colors out there, even though I love ALL of them. This would be great to pair with a nice, shimmery gold and a winged liner.

Liner, Liner and MORE LINER!

Here is another option for those who aren't skilled with a brush! I love these liquid liners that come in a penlike form. They're SO easy to use and Stila is a great brand.

Mineral Shadow!

Mineral shadow is another one of my favorite makeup things. This little quad has beautiful greens which will be great for fall!

Perfect Base Color!

This color will be perfect for my FAVORITE, the cut crease.

Day to Night Palette!

Who doesn't love a palette that has a transition from day to night. This includes safe for work shades and perfect going out shades that you can add on later to create an awesome smoky eye.

Matte Lipstick!

Like I said earlier, matte lippies are basically my favorite. I'm currently building a collection, and this one is definitely going to be in my bag VERY soon! Red lips are always classic. LOVE it.

I LOVE Nyx makeup. This is an AWESOME set that is pretty affordable considering all that you get. Their shadow is amazing, and I'm all for anything glitter and fake lashes. This is a great Christmas present!!!
