2 Majestic Bombay Triple Review!

Last review I think I'm posting for the evening is for some products I received from 2 Majestic Bombay.
They provide some really awesome beauty/grooming tools and I got the chance to try out three of them.
Let's start with:
The first thing I received was these AWESOME PINK tweezers from Tweezit. I have like a million pairs of tweezers, but that's okay because I lose them constantly. These came in a nice little carry pouch, and work really well. They feel like professional grade tweezers, but have a regular person price. You can buy them on Amazon HERE. They're seriously really great and awesome at precision when I'm doing my brows. They're matte for a nonslip grip and have a LIFETIME Guarantee!!

Up next:
Cuticle Pusher/Thing to clean underneath your nails. I'm always in need of a good nail tool, since I do my nails so frequently, and anything to get me away from my cuticle trimmer, is good for me. Melissa can tell you allll about my cuticle trimmer addition. It's bad. Anyway, this nifty little tool is really great for cleaning under acrylics. I don't know about real nails but since the cleaner part is so long, its super easy. It's a little rough on the cuticles, but I'm a cuticle BEAST and hate them so that's fine with me. This is another really well made product and its completely stainless steel and very sturdy. You can get it on Amazon HERE.

AND last but not least MY FAVORITE!
Blackhead extractor/PIMPLE DEMOLISHER!!!! I am absolutely head over heels in love with this little thing. It makes popping pimples and getting rid of those nasty hard to reach blackheads a breeze. It doesn't make your skin tear or scar up like when you do it with your hands and again, is a very sturdy, professional grade stainless steel product. I'm in love with it. I almost want zits so I can attack them with it. :) You can get this bad boy on Amazon HERE.

Have you tried any of these products before?? If so, I'd love to hear your experiences. Or any tips for this blackhead/whitehead remover would be nice!

Nail Cones Review!!!

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
Today I have a pretty cool review for all the nail polish junkies out there like me! :) I plan on posting a couple of nail related reviews in the upcoming days as well!
Anyway! I, for one, always seem to make either a giant mess, or at least a little one whenever I do my nails. Especially when I'm painting them with my left hand. Nail cones are a brand new product that provide a SUPER easy, affordable way to remedy this problem and I'm super glad that I got to test them out to review for you! Thanks to Nail Cones and Tomoson for the opportunity.

I have some pictures to better explain what they are and how they work!!!
My favorite part of this product is that they are SUPER easy to use! You simply peel them off and place them around your nail, and then they protect the skin around your nail from any excess polish getting on them! I find these GREAT for doing designs and gradients that involve using a sponge! They're also REALLY sticky and stay on VERY well, which makes them even better! Usually I use plain old tape when I do stuff like water marbling, gradients, and nail art, and it always peels off and isn't quite tacky enough. These DEFINITELY are, but they aren't so sticky that you can't get them off either.

PLUS, did I mention they're ADORABLE?! Here's some pictures of me using these awesome little stickers from the other day!
This is how you peel off the stickers for use! They come in different sizes too, so you can pick the right one depending on what nail you need to use it on!
AND here is the top part of the package that has the super easy instructions!
And here is what they look like when you put them on! I don't have them pushed all the way down here, since it was the first time I used them and I'm not used to wearing acrylics anyway... but you can see that there is basically NO nail polish on any of my skin! Yay for no difficult cleanup! :)
Complete!!!!
And my completed mani and my monster!! :P Not to brag or anything, but how CUTE are my butterfly nails!

If you'd like to find out more about Nail Cones, please visit their website HERE.
A sheet only costs $5.99 and they have LOTS of info on their website and even a video tutorial!! Definitely worth it! They make painting nails a breeze!

Until next time,

Pretty & Polished Candy Coated Swatch & Review!

Time for another tiny piece of my Pretty & Polished May Beauty box!!!

This time it's "Candy Coated"! I received a mini of this baby in my box this month and I LOVE it. It's one of those things I didn't realize that I needed until I owned it.
I love it SO much. It's like the perfect baby pink with adorable purple glitter in it. I don't know how I lived without it before and it is literally perfect for Spring!! :)

Here's your swatch of the day!

I hope you love it!!

Cherry Blossom Nails for Spring!!!

No serious tutorial or anything for these really, but they were WAY easier than I thought they'd be!

All you need is:
Brown Polish
Base color polish(es)
Dark Pink
Light pink
Striping brush
Dotting tool and/or pen

I used:
Julep - Fiore
Julep - Bess
Julep - Denver
Julep - Carrie
Julep - Nellie
HK Girl Topcoat
Striping Brush
Crappy old pen

Basically you just paint your nails the base colors. I used Julep Bess with Julep Denver as an accent nail although you can't really tell in the photo. Let that dry. I applied Topcoat here to make it dry faster. HK Girl is my go to for nail art because it dries crazy fast, doesn't shrink, and doesn't smear.
Then you take your brown color and paint on branches. The best part is they don't have to be perfect or anything because the flowers are going to be going on top of them. I used Julep Fiore because it's the only brownish polish I have but it's a little dark.
Then randomly on the branches make dots in the shape of flowers with your light pink color. I tired to make them not all the same size, and used Julep Carrie.
Then in the middle of those "flowers"  use your dark pink to make a dot in the middle and Voila!  Cherry Blossom Nails!!!  I used Julep Nellie for the dark pink.  It's my favorite.
Top coat again and done!!!

So there's your super easy and fast tutorial for my nails of the day and HERE THEY ARE in all their novice glory!

Broadway Nails imPRESS on Manicure Review!

For those of you who saw my Influenster unboxing post, you might remember that I received some press on nails! I haven't used press on nails since I was like 10 years old honestly... acrylics are just better and I've been trying to grow out my real ones, but for the sake of knowing if they are any good, I decided to try them out!

Today I bring you my review of Broadway Nails imPRESS on Manicure in the design "Space Cadet".
A set of these little fake nails runs about $6 at the drugstore. I believe they're made by Kiss Cosmetics, and you can get them anywhere from Walmart to Walgreens to Target to online. This design is pretty cute in my opinion, which is mainly why I decided to actually try them instead of giving them to my 6 year old daughter.
They look kind of like little black and white glitter giraffe print, so I'm not totally 100% sure why they're called Space Cadet.

Anyway. Each kit comes with 24 nails in 12 different sizes, and they're like medium length. Unfortunately this isn't long enough for me to justify actually buying them. My natural nails have been growing, so I had to place them pretty far up my nail to make sure my real nail didn't show through. They would definitely be ideal for someone with very short nails or none at all.

PROS:
  • Super easy to apply, you just peel off the plastic on the back side and stick them on.
  • No glue required. Less damaging to your real nail because you don't have to use glue or acrylic.
  • Lots of different designs to choose from. I will include an Amazon link to my favorites
  • Supposedly last up to a week
CONS:
  • A little on the expensive side. You can buy a full set at the salon for only like $15 more.
  • Not long enough for me to justify using/buying them
  • Still had trouble finding exact fits for my nails and didn't want to cut them
My overall experience with these is mostly positive. I've had them on about 24 hours now, and they haven't fallen off. They're cute and nice to look at. They're shaped well and not cheap looking at the ends. However, there is a gap between my real nail and the fake one, because they aren't long enough and the adhesive doesn't go all the way to the tip.

Here's some pictures. You will see what I mean about the placement. My hands look like I have grown out acrylics on, and the short pinky nail makes my hands look fat.

There you have it! I probably wouldn't buy these, but they were fun to try!!

Green & Gold Nails for St. Patrick's Day!

I finally pulled together some St. Patty's Nails with some of my favorite Julep colors!!! :)
I'm going to try a little nail art here in a minute, but I've been trying to wait on my HK Girl topcoat to get here! LOL It's the best and it's so hard to do my nails now without it!

For these nails I used:
Julep - Cindy
Julep - Lucky (Middle finger)
Julep - Andrea (Ring finger)

I purchased Cindy awhile ago, but hadn't really used it. This is a perfect color for the holiday! It's green with gold microshimmer! Love it!
Lucky is kind of similar, except it has big gold glitters in it. I got it last year as an add on in March!
Andrea is my favorite full coverage glitter right now. It's actually supposed to be bronze, but I definitely see it as gold!

Let's see your St. Patty's Nails!!! :D I think I'm going to do leprechaun nails here in a few!

Julep Maven March 2014 Unboxing & Review!

Today I received my March Julep box! This is the first time in awhile I've been overly excited to order my Julep colors. I'm a sucker for anything bright and anything green, so I quickly knew what colors I wanted!

For those of you who don't already know, Julep is a monthly subscription service that provides the latest nailpolish colors right to your door for as low as $19.99 a month. Every month they come out with four different sets of colors and a beauty product based on your style profile, which is a quiz that allows them to decide which color you'd like best. You can either pick between these four, or opt for their Modern Beauty box, which is contains no polish and awesome beauty items instead! They also let you upgrade to get the whole collection! Sign up right now and use code FREEBOX to get your first box for only the cost of shipping!
Julep Beauty Inc.

Now on to my box!!! For March 2014, Julep brought us "The Riviera Collection"; nine beautiful bright spring colors and lipglosses. For Modern Beauty they brought us the "Buff Lip Scrub" and "Luxe Lip Conditioning Treatment".
My style according to Julep's style profile is "Bombshell", which is the box I chose this month! Take their quiz HERE to see what yours is! :)

My March box contained:
Monaco - Dazzling Mariner Blue Creme (Pantone color of the year for Spring 2014)
Julep Lip Gloss in Fearless
Candy Cane Extra :)
Add ons:
Lizanne - Sea Green Shimmer
Tania - Multidimensional Mermaid Teal Glitter

Now, I usually don't get add ons, but I had to have these colors! I don't have any swatches of Lilou for you today, because I am thinking about selling or trading it, because I already have something similar, but here are the others!
I love LOVE LOVE Monaco. It's the perfect blue creme for spring and summer. I can't get enough blue polishes. And Lizanne is great too! Personally, I don't really see any "shimmer" once it is on, its more like a bright teal cream, but beautiful nonetheless! I used Tania as an accent over Lizanne.
In the bottle, Tania reminded me of Julep's Esmerelda, so I decided to do a comparison photo to see what the difference was. Esmerelda is one of my favorite Julep's I own.
The glitters in them seem to be very similar in color, but Tania has an opalescent base color that completely changes the color of the base nail polish. I'm interested to try it on it's own, but that's for another day!
Here's a swatch of the lippie I chose. It will be great for the spring and summer. It's a beautiful hot pink shimmer gloss that makes my lips shiny and fuller. I love it and can't wait to use it over a pink or red lipstick!
I love Julep's new glosses because they smell and taste super good and aren't overly sticky!

So that's my box! Like I said if you're not signed up for Julep already, definitely check them out! They have some great products as well as polish, and I'm sure you will be JUST as addicted as I am!
If you are signed up, which box did you get this month??? Love it or hate it?

Happy Birthday to ME Cupcake Nails!!

So like I said last night, today was my 25th birthday. It wasn't the most spectacularly eventful birthday, but it was definitely special. :) For my birthday I decided to do cupcake nails, like I did last year, so I could compare them and see how much progress I've made in doing my nails over the last 12 months. I'm super pleased with myself and I am DOUBLE super pleased with my nails for the day!!! :D
Let's see what you think...

Last years:
I mean they're not HORRIBLE or anything, but they are pretty messy and this picture is awful. :)

THIS YEARS!!!
Left Hand
Right Hand

They're freaking awesome.
Inspired by the best cupcake/cake EVER! :)

More Valentine's Day Nails! Heartbeats :)

So for my second entry in the Pretty & Polished contest on Facebook, I had to use at LEAST one Pretty & Polished color for my Valentine's Day Nails.
This was kind of hard because I only have 5 of them... and none are really Valentine's appropriate colors. I need ALL THE PRETTIES! It's my favorite indie brand. Anyways! Here's what I came up with!

I still think the Corset nails were the best of my week's mani's... But these are pretty cute too. I used Julep's Carrie as the base color. I've been trying to get this color for months now and FINALLY it is MINE! :( It's like a pretty barbie pink color. Pretty & Polished's Day Trippin' on my ring finger (supposed to be a thermal, but I bought mine in a swap group and it doesn't work, just stays purple) and Pretty & Polished's Popples for the heart. Popples is my favorite P&P so far.

Looking ahead for the next few weeks, I'm definitely going to be doing more Valentine's Day nail art. & Birthday nail art at the end of the month.
ALSO! I have a Julep Box that SHOULD come tomorrow hopefully!
Happy February!

Valentine's Day Nails!

Okay so I know I haven't really been posting much this month and I feel totally guilty and neglectful but I've been super busy and stressed over work and this being the last month of the semester.
I did however spend a pretty significant amount of time on my nails last night for a Pretty & Polished contest so I figure I may as well share!! Hope you enjoy.
Inspiration is Naughty & Nice nails.
Right side is the naughty side, with black, glitter, and corsets.
Left is the nice side, with pink, glitter, and love letters with hearts. :)
I think I'm going to do all corsets this weekend. I think they're pretty cute!
Anyone have any awesome Valentine's Day nails ideas???
Let me see or describe it to me!

Merry Christmas Everyone! Santa Nails for Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all of my readers!! I hope you and your families have an awesome day today!! :D
For Christmas, I'm just going to show you my Santa nails I did last night, since these are going to be the last Christmas nails I post until next year. 2014 is going to be the best nail art year yet! I can feel it!! They are a little bit messy, but hey, it's all about the holiday spirit right?! My Santa looks kind of like a white Papa Smurf but that's okay :D

For these I used:
China Glaze - Just be Claws
Butter London - Marbs
Julep - Nicolette (This is a really awesome white, Chynel doesn't believe me, but I swear it rivals Cotton Buds by Butter London)
Julep - Minnie
Sinful Colors - Black on Black
HK Girl Topcoat! ( The best topcoat ever made, if you haven't tried it, do, because it will change your life!)

I know they're messy and this photo quality is awful but I think they're pretty adorable!!

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays you guys!

Pretty & Polished Harajuku Honey and Popples!

It's official. I love all things Pretty & Polished. It could be because it's my first indie, but I don't care and I must share with you these lovelies in all their glory. I hope you enjoyed my last post of the Amazing Technicolor Topcoat as much as I do. :) I ordered three colors in the Black Friday sale and these are the remaining two. I love both of them!!!!
I hope they do another sale soon because I want to own so many more of her colors. ESPECIALLY her thermals! Check out Pretty & Polished HERE, you won't regret it. :)
In my previous post about The Amazing Technicolor Topcoat I mentioned I received cuticle balm. It seems to be working very well! I also bought another Sugar Scrub in the scent cupcake which I LOVE! My husband said he wanted to eat it out of the jar it smells so amazing. lol Here's some pictures of the two since I didn't post them last time.

And here are some swatches of my nails!!
White is Popples & Harajuku Honey is the Pink Jelly

If I had to choose between the two I would probably pick Popples as my favorite, just because I really love the name and neon glitters. They both went on really great as well as they were super easy to work with. This is three coats of each just to get lots of glitter. :) Only downside is they were a pain in the butt to take off!
Other hand! Which is your favorite!?

Like I said, I LOVE both of these polishes, and I can't WAIT to get more of Pretty & Polished to add to my collection. I have a thermal mini that will be in the mail on Friday that I can't wait for!!
Anyone else LOVE Pretty & Polished?? What's your favorite color?

Later!

Snowmen Nail Pictorial!

So I did these nails about a week ago and have been putting off posting them because they aren't as awesome as I wanted them to be. But here is a tutorial anyway! They were pretty easy to do as far as nail art goes, and you only need a couple of tools to accomplish these.

You will need:
Large dotting tool
A brush suitable for tiny details on your snowman & snowflakes
A small dotting tool or toothpick for little snowflakes
Makeup sponge
Whatever colors you want to use

Start by painting your nails a light blue color. I used Cinderella by Sinful Colors. I had to do like 4 coats because this is a pretty transparent color, but it was my only light blue.

Next I decided to add an gradient with purple just to make them a little bit prettier. This is actually really really easy to do, and all you need is a triangle makeup sponge!! I used Sally Hansen's Purple Pizazz which is a purple Jelly color with lots of shimmer. Paint on the two colors you are using on the sponge like THIS:
Then you gently apply it to your semi dry nails starting at the side and over and over until you get the brightness you are trying to achieve. Here's what my looked like when they were completed:
The next step is to apply your snowman. Start by placing a large dot on your nails like this:
Then add the bottom of the snowman near the tip of your nail. It doesn't have to be perfectly round.
Next, add the top snowball part of the snowman like this:
Next paint on your snowman's buttons, face, hat, nose, arms, and even a scarf if you want! I thought mine was pretty cute with a red scarf. :)
Almost done!!! Next, I decided to add some snowflakes and glitter, just to make them a little bit more "wintery". :) You don't have to do this though. After you're done with that, add a topcoat and that's all there is to it!!! I used Julep's Portia for the glitter.
I think my snowflakes look horrible, sorry. LOL But that's okay :) There you have it! Super easy snowman nails for your holiday season!

What holiday nails should I do next??? I was thinking maybe Santa nails or something... I'm running out of ideas already! :D

Until next time, Don't forget to follow & like us on Facebook!

Christmas Lights Nail Pictorial!

This year I am feeling unusually festive. I've already decorated my house with Christmas lights, and have been pinning Christmas nails and crafts like a mad woman. I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet, but I've already done my Thanksgiving nails for the year, and I can't think of anymore to do. Don't worry I'll show you those in a minute. :) It's freezing in Tennessee today and it already feels like winter so why not get a head start!! Christmas nails are my favorite to do and there's endless possibilities!!! Here is a simply, three step tutorial for some ADORABLE Christmas light nail art.

But first, here's my turkey Thanksgiving nails for your viewing pleasure.

On to the Christmas lights! For this mani I used:
The first step is to paint all of your nails white. I tried to pick a nice opaque white with little to no shimmer. Next, I went ahead and added a coat of my fast dry topcoat to make the nails dry enough to start painting on the lights! I also went ahead and cleaned them up to ensure there would be no bleeding of the colors together from the remover in cleaning up later.

The next step is to paint on your string that the lights are going to painted on. I picked black for this, but green would also work if you're looking for a more traditional Christmas light feel. I used the thinnest brush in my collection that I could find. I also saw on Pinterest that you can use a piece of thread for this to make a really thin string of lights. You just place it where you want while your nails are still tacky and trim it then put a topcoat on to hold it in place.

Next, use a small brush, dotting tool, or even a toothpick to carefully paint on the lights. I used a toothpick that way I could get a tiny triangular shape for the lights. It allows for precision and I think if you're a beginner it would be your best bet. The best part is you can pick any color you want! You can do just red and green, or multicolored lights like I did! Just make sure and alternate the colors you're using. I painted on one color at a time. I used red, blue, green, and yellow. Sorry for the bad quality photo. My camera was not cooperating. :( Once you're done with that, add on your favorite topcoat and you're done!

And that's all there is to it! Super easy, Super cute nails for Christmas!
Here's a picture of my favorite one! :)

Hope you guys enjoyed my tutorial!!! I think these nails are super cute and I will definitely be trying them again with different variations and hopefully a little less mess. Until next time!
