Bonus Post! Day of the dead makeup!

I started practicing my Halloween makeup this evening with all intentions of doing a tutorial, but got so into it that I didn't really take as many pictures of the process as intended. So until the next time I do it and I get some white face paint, here is what I've come up with so far!
Any advice or tips or anything helpful is definitely welcomed!!! I'm so doing this for Halloween!!!! :)

Please tell me what you think!!! :)

Halloween Drip Nails!

Time for some easy peasy nail art everyone!!!
Nail drippies are one of my favorites because they are so ridiculously easy and look really cool no matter what colors you use. You could do blood drips with white and red too with this same technique.

For this tutorial I used:
Julep - Adrianna
Sally Hansen - Black Out
Random Nightlights glow in the dark polish from Sally's mentioned in another post

Start out by painting your nails whatever solid color you are using. This is really obvious but for the sake of this being a tutorial I will say it. :)
Allow that to dry for a bit and then add your glow in the dark topper. I used two coats of mine just to make sure they glowed really nicely and had a lot of glitter. :)
Once that is dry, you get a dotting tool, pen, bobby pin, toothpick, whatever you have thats roundish on the end and start in the middle of your nail and make a dot. You then drag it upward toward the tip of your nail and repeat this as many times as you want on your nail to make the dripping paint.

When you're done it should look something like this:

The last step is to paint a line across the tips of your nails. You can do this as thick as you want. Mine is pretty thin and is just like a french mani tip.

See how easy it is!! I may do blood drips next and I'll add a picture of it! :)

And here comes the best part!
I swear if I could find more of this stuff I'd buy a million bottles!! It glows like crazy!!!

UMCheeky Review Number 2!

Hi again! If you've been reading regularly, then you know that last month I went out on a limb and signed up for Unmentionably cheeky, a subscription program for super cute undies for the ridiculously low price of 2 for $6. Umcheeky is a great subscription service owned by husband and wife team Richard and Melody out of New York. All of the pictures on their website are actually underwear that they send out.

You can visit them here!

You can find my original review HERE!

Well, it's that time again! I was super excited when I arrived home and found second package in the mail today! Honestly I had a little trouble with one of my pairs from last month. They ripped up in the washer after wearing them like two times and I was pretty disappointed. The best part about UmCheeky, however, is that they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee and excellent customer service to boot! Richard from UmCheeky emailed me back super fast and offered to add an extra pair to my next months shipment, which I happily accepted. He was very nice and personable which is rare for subscription services I've noticed.

I received all bikini "cheeky" style lacy underwear which are okay, but not my favorite. I prefer boyshorts, thongs, or g strings. I read the fine print on their site though tonight and they are only offering "cheeky" style underwear at the moment, but it says they are planning to add others in the future. My only qualm about Umcheeky is that I wish there was an option to choose different style profiles and I shot them an email about this evening along with my thank you for having the best customer service ever. :)

Anyways! Drumroll......
Here they are:

I don't really like the ones in the front all that much because the top is kind of weird and I don't care for the bow (I will remove it), but the other two are just fine. Last month I meant to order a size up, but I forgot to do switch it. However, they all fit perfectly this time around. All in all I am more than satisfied with my mystery panties this month! The black ones I especially love because only the front has really pretty lace, while the back is more modest and just has an accent of it. I think they will hold up much better than the white ones I got last month.

If you'd like to join in on the fun and sign up too, make sure and do so using my link HERE and let me know what you think!!! Use code FALL13 to lock in your price forever!! I hope they continue expanding their program because I really enjoy their service. :)

Anyone know of any other awesome underwear subscription boxes???

Have a great weekend!

Ipsy October Unboxing!!

It's that time again!!! The middle of the month has become my favorite part of the month since I subscribed to Ipsy. :) For those of you who don't already know, Ipsy is a makeup/beauty subscription program. For just $10 a month you receive a cute bag filled with 4-5 usually full sized mystery products all based on a survey where you tell them what you like or what you'd like to try. I personally love it. Ipsy has enabled me to try out SO many new brands that I would otherwise never try on my own. Definitely check it out if you like makeup, nail polish, or any beauty product!!!

You can use my referral link HERE!!!

This month was an AWESOME month for me! After last month's disappointing bag this one definitely makes up for it. You can see it right here.
The theme for the bags this month was "Art of Beauty" which is super cute. :)

Here is what I received:

I personally don't care for the actual bag this month. It's pretty plain. :)

I received a Coastal Scents medium shadow brush, Sexy Hair Spray Clay, Zoya nail polish, Bella Terra mineral shimmer, and Ole Hendriksen Truth Creme

Here is a better look at the brush. I personally can never have enough eyeshadow brushes and mine were getting pretty old so it works for me. :) It works really nicely and blends easily. It is also super soft. I'd definitely buy a whole set. You can purchase their brushes right HERE. Or you can use this link to buy this specific brush for only $2.49 which is a definite steal for a quality brush.

Next up is Bella Terra Mineral Cosmetics Mineral Shimmer in Navy. I actually would have rather received the purple color they were giving out but I will surely be able to find some use for this. It is VERY highly pigmented and goes on super smooth. I haven't actually used to as eyeshadow yet but when I swatched it, it was very nice. I'd never heard of this brand before, but I think I will definitely purchase more of these in the future. Their website states these are 8 in 1. They can be used as "Creamy & Matte eyeshadow, nail polish, eyeliner, mascara, lip color, body glitter, and hair streaks" I'm not quite sure about using this Navy Blue for all of those things, but HEY whatever floats your boat. :) They have like 60 really pretty colors and you can purchase them HERE for $14.99 which is good for a pigment. You can also buy 9 stacks of them for $69.99 right here.
See how nice and smooth and shimmery it is? I kind of love it.

Here is the Sexy Hair Spray clay. I really love this brand of hair products so I was excited to receive this even though I wanted the blow dry gel. I used this yesterday after straightening my hair and it was pretty nice. It didn't leave my hair sticky at all, which is awesome in my opinion because most hairsprays do. It is supposed to be for adding texture but I tried it for flyaways and keeping my hair straight all day and it worked great! You can buy a full sized right HERE at Ulta for $18.95 or a trial size for $8.00.

This little thing right here is Ole Hendrikson Truth Creme. I was pretty stoked to receive this because I love trying new moisturizers. I've used it twice so far and the second time was much better than the first. The main problem with this is it has a SUPER strong orange scent to it. If you can't handle fragrances then this is definitely not your product. It goes on pretty smooth but I think it's a little bit too greasy for my liking. Truth Creme is supposed to be really great for anti aging. The trial size they provided is .25 oz while the full size is 1.7 oz You can purchase the full size right HERE for $45.

Last and my personal favorite is the Zoya nail polish. I received Mason out of the Fall 2013 Cashmere's and Satin's collection, which is a purpley/pink shimmer. Their website describes it as "Metallic" but I don't really see it that way. I absolutely LOVE it!!! The picture above is three coats in overcast light and the next one is with flash.. Zoya is one of my favorite brands even though I don't own very many. It goes on super smooth and not streaky at all. You can purchase this color from their website HERE for $8.

So that's it! I love my October Glam Bag! And here comes the best part..... Ipsy Coupon Codes!!

Don't forget if you like the looks of the Ipsy Glam Bag program you can sign up using my referral link! It's a reallllly great program if you love makeup!!!

Have a great fall day! Xx Ashley C.

Quickie pumpkin nails post!

This is going to be a super short and sweet post because I am totally loving my nails right now and my laptop is dead. :)  So I will share my Mani from my phone!  Yay technology.
 For this I used:
  • Julep - Majorie
  •  Julep - MacKenzie
  •  Migi Pen in black
I decided to only do one little pumpkin face this time around,  although I may add more later. Just paint your nails orange,  paint on your jack o lantern face, and add a stem!
 Hope you enjoy!!!

Mani of the day!!

I'm so so so excited for fall!! I can finally wear my sweaters, boots, hoodies and fall colored nail polishes!! For my nails today I decided to do a glitter ombre! I am OBSESSED with glitter ombres and fades right now. They are super cute for any season but I think my favorite gold glitter is perfect for fall! I probably need a little bit more practice with them but I'm really liking my nails!! Hope you enjoy! :)

For this mani I used:
Sephora by OPI - I'm with Brad
Sinful Colors - All About You

The glitter ombre itself was really easy to do! All you need is a makeup sponge. First paint you nails a solid color and wait until they are almost all the way dry. Then you paint the glitter onto the sponge and just sponge it on slowly and make sure there is more at the tip of the nail! :) Then seal it with a topcoat of course!

Another tragedy I'm also out of cuticle oil!!! Anyone have any suggestions for a brand that will help a really big problem with cracking cuticles???

Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do!! :)

Music Note Nail Tutorial!

Last night I did the cutest nails and I figured I'd show you how to do them as well!! It's one of the easiest tutorials ever so here you go!

For this mani I used:
Julep - Annette
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Black Out
Seche Vite Top Coat

First you paint your nails a solid color. I picked Julep Annette because it's kind of grey and kind of white and I hoped it would go on smoothly. It, however went on horrible and gloopy so forgive the mess. I should have just used regular white.

Next take a striping brush and paint three thin lines on the tips of each nail like this:
Mine are a little messier than I'd like them to be.

Next with a dotting tool, pen, bobby pen end, or a rounded end brush paint two dots on the lines. I did some of mine on the lines and some of them in between so the notes weren't on the same lines on each nail. :)

Then you finish off the notes. Paint lines on the dots on the right side and form your notes! I chose to do different notes on each nails to make it look more like sheet music. :)

And you're done!! Super easy peasy and adorable nail art for your weekend!
Enjoy!

Faux Shaved Head Side Braid!

Here is a quick post for the day since I am at work. Notice the cubicle and office building in the picture. :)

I absolutely love my hair today. I originally had a regular french braid on the side but it came undone pretty fast due to my not so great braiding skills.
A girl at my work did a dutch braid on the side and it is so tight and perfect!! The difference between Dutch and French braids is that the dutch one you put the strands under instead of over when you are braiding! That way the braid pops out and you can see it better. This is my new favorite hairstyle for fall because I'm too scared to actually shave my head.

Hope you enjoy!! :)
Going to be doing more makeup tutorials this weekend too so be on the lookout!

Mini Drugstore Haul!

Walgreens is pretty much my favorite drugstore ever. They always have the best stuff on sale!!! I told you guys I was going to get another Wet N Wild palette and lucky me they were still on sale for $2.00!!!!

I picked up Walkin' on Eggshells which is one the of neutral trios. Can't wait to test it out tomorrow!! You can buy it here!!

I also have been dying for some gel liner.... mine from Sephora is sadly all dried up and I was on a super budget so I decided to pick up some Elf cream liner for $3.00!! I've never tried it before but I like the Elf products that I have tried so far so I figured why not. Pretty excited! Even more excited now that I just realized it comes with a brush too!
I know I said yesterday I was going to review the Julep liner today.... BUT I woke up way later than anticipated this morning and did a bad job on my makeup. I'm probably going to actually review both Julep and Elf liners tomorrow or this next day so watch out!!

I also grabbed two really great looking nail polishes by Sinful Colors because they were 2/$3 and the matte color display totally sold me. I bought a reddish orange matte color called "Laced Up" and a Hot Pink/Fuschia color called "Forget Now". I tried out Laced Up earlier and it goes on really really nice. It only took two coats and went on perfectly smooth. I can't really decide if it is more orange or more red.... I vote orange and my husband votes red... So you can decide... Please ignore my horrible black tips I was going to Halloween colors. lol I also haven't even bothered to clean up. :)

So great and matte.

AND last but certainly not least my husband had two wonderful gifts waiting on me when I arrived home... in the form of mustaches.

Have a great night!!!
